My son got Beretta Bite while doing live fire and was DQ'd.  He was so bummed.  It was the one pate of boot he was so looking forward to.  He knows everything about guns and couldn't wait to get to that part of the training only to get DQ'd.  You win some, you loose some.  :(

Ok, guys, I got home and read the letter:) My son said he was the line officer during the Marline Spike and that it was the most together they had been as a division!!! Our prayers are being answered!!! Keep praying! Praise the Lord! Believing that the same prayers will be answered for my son and his shin splints and his running time will pass on the next test!! Thank you Lord!:)

What training day is this divison on?  For example:

Div 075, Thurs. 2/16, Day 5-3

If I figured correctly our Div should be on 5-3 tomorrow, 2/17. Is this what anyone else has? I think I am figuring correctly. I don't count Saturday or Sunday correct?

Thanks!

I am starting to get so excited! I printed off the gate pass and then started getting the paperwork (ie: youngest birth certificate & SS card, directions to RTC, etc). Made me feel like it is so close now! I got to thinking about when I needed to stop sending the letters:( that kinda made me sad a little because I have gotten used to sending them every day and will miss sending them. But I will only have to go a few days before I board the plane!!:) I am thinking I will send my last letter on Monday before PIR, what do you guys think? I have no idea how long it is taking him to get the letters so I don't really know if he will even get that one. Do any of you know how long it has taken for them to get your letters? Have any of you sent the questionnaires? I sent two but he didn't send any of them back. I was hoping he would because I would love to know the answers to them! lol I know he told me he just doesn't have a lot of time to write so I am sure that is why. I am thankful for anything I do get!:) Hope you are all doing well! Looking forward to meeting you all!:)

Hi Leslie!! I'm not exactly sure when to stop sending letters, but I heard that we should send our last on the wednesday before the week of PIR..however you can always continue to send letters after that if you feel like you want to! I am really looking forward to PIR!!! Is the gate pass password the same for everyone in the division? I haven't printed mine out yet. I love seeing that our PIR date is the NEXT ONE!! SOOO EXCITED!! I remember when we were at the bottom of the list and now we've finally made it to the TOP!! :) We've come a long way!! And our boys even farther!! SO PROUD!!

No, I think the password is different for every SR. At least I think that is the way it is! lol  It is awesome seeing our PIR at the top now!:) It is WAYYY better seeing it there than on the bottom!:) I am so proud of all of them, they have worked so hard and come such a long way!:)

So hard to believe that I went from crying every day because I missed him so much to anxious with anticipation for PIR.  I can't believe it is almost here and the excitement only keeps building.  Wow, last letters?  New chapters?  It's all so hard to imagine, isn't it?  It's like opening new doors.  It will be strange not to write every day.  It has become such a habit that I cannot imagine not having a part of everyday life.  On the other hand, it will be so great to be able to talk on the phone, text, email, and facebook them whenever we want.  :)

It has become such a habit to sit down and write a letter every day! I do look forward to the day of being able to talk to him, text him, facetime him and all that great stuff!!:) Will be so much better than snail mail!!

Got a phone call today.......not good news.....he will be held back on PIR for one week for "rough housing"....sounds alittle more than rough if they are pushing him back a week.  He sounded like the world had just ended and didn't get to say anything else besides how sorry he was for letting everyone down.  Made me wish I could hug him and tell him it will be okay...learn the lesson, keep your head up and keep pushing on....writing it all in a letter but hard telling when he will read it. Anyone know what happens when they get bumped? Will he lose his MM ranking in nuke school?  Place in nukes?

Hope whom ever the "rough housing" was with is okay.....  Praying for all our kids.  Hope the group does well with battle stations and y'all enjoy your day with your SR on PIR.  Praying for Gavin that he pulls himself up by the boot strap and keeps his head on straight and stays focused on what he needs to do.

I'm so sorry to hear about this unfortunate news..hope everything comes together and this will just make him stronger! We will all keep your son and your family in our prayers.
