Is there anyone with a SR Ship 2 Div 919?  If yes, please comment on the status of your SR and your experience here.  My son is there.  We are from Texas.  I've already made our reservations at the Residence Inn.  I've been doing a lot of reading online and found that this place has nice 2 bedroom 2 bath suites with full kitchen.  I also spoke with a lady online that verified there is a wonderful free full hot breakfast and that he graduation is only 4 miles or so away from the hotel.  The online site state the suite will accommodate 6 comfortably.  I haven't gotten tickets yet as I'm watching the rates.  I've seen prices  fall as low as 200 RT.  However the deadline for use was prior to my departure date.  Chime in if you are going and will be staying at the same hotel.  Maybe we can have a meet and greet night at the hotel or something.  Can anyone tell I'm extremely excited about PIR and getting to see my SR turn Sailor.  Yeah!

I had a wonderful Valentines Day because I got a one-minute phone call from my son! He said, "his ship02 div919 earned a phone call privilege". Although, the call was brief I'm glad I didn't miss it @ 11:00 PM eastern time : ). Mr USPS here I come this morning to mail more letters to my baby boy: )

I missed Sarah's call, we were in bed asleep.  This makes me feel better Yvonne, cause maybe I wouldn't have been able to talk very long anyway.  Was good to hear her voice on the answering machine.  I don't erase messages from any of my sailors.

OK... I'm getting fed up looking for airline tickets that are reasonable and guaranteed.  I've been reading and thinking.  There is buying power when purchasing in bulk.  I'm quite sure that our ship/div has more than 10 people flying to Chicago, IL for the PIR.  As such, I'd like to know if anyone would be interested in purchasing from the same airline carrier at a negotiated rate?  If you'd be interested, please comment with a number of passengers and I'll make a few phone calls to see what bulk purchasing does for our group.  I personally will be traveling with a group of 5.  What do you think?  Please chime in if you have any suggestions and or comments.  I'll check back and see and post my findings.

I agree - tickets are sooooo expensive from houston.   I check, re-check, and am frusrated about the prices - i guess because of spring break!!! - call the airlines and see what kind of rates and let me know - it's just me.

If you are coming from Houston Texas to Chicago, the tickets are on for $305.10 including taxes and all. I just purchased and I don't think the prices are going to get in lower. Too, I've noticed that the availability of seats are almost down to none. Just and FYI... see you all there.

Hey 919, has anyone said anything about colors for our division. Someone please let me know.

I was told Navy with White anchors/DIV but I really need someone to confirm this please let me know asap :-) Thanks

Anyone going to any of the meet and greets?  If yes, which one.  Also, do we have to RSVP to attend?

We are going to SARGES. There is a place on his meet and greet announcment that says RSVP abd just click it and his phone number is also on there. i text him and told him that there was 4 in our group

Thanks for the reply and info.  I think we are going to try the same Meet and Greet.  See you there.

Thats great i think i will have the Navy doll with me. And we are going to have our ribbons on to. I look forward to meeting you.

Tomorrow at noon - everyone go to the U.S. Navy Recruit Command Facebook Page.   They are going to ask a trivia question from the http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/ website.   You have to answer the question exactly as it is in the website to include punctuation or quotation marks.    If we are the first to answer exactly we get to see a pic of div 919.   I really want to see a picture of my daughter - oh yea and they usually put your recruit in front if your the one that answers the question.   PM me if you want information.    GO 919!
