Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

What day of the week do they leave for A school?
I have heard many different stories as to how long sailors have after PIR before departing for their A school. Does anyone know from prior experience sailors leaving for HM A school, how long will they have for liberty after PIR? I want to spend as much time with my son as possible but I don't want to be stuck in GL if he has already flow out. Thanks for any words of wisdom.

My son PIR'd August 26 and he flew out to San Antonio on August 27. They got at the airport early and I met him at the airport that morning and hung out with him until his flight left. I don't think he left until about 5 p.m. I was able to get a gate pass and go sit with him at the gate and watched him board the flight. If you can, I would highly recommend that you go with him to the airport and get a gate pass, but he needs to be with you to get the gate pass. At the airport, you can give him his cell phone, laptop, IPOD, etc. Unfortunately we didn't have much time with him, just after PIR until he had to be back on base (I think around 8 p.m.) and then the time we had together at the airport. I was driving from Texas to Great Lakes, so we stayed until Sunday and then started the drive back on Sunday, but I think the hotels are pretty accommodating if you make a reservation through Sunday and decide to leave Saturday instead.
