Anyone else have a loved one in Ship 9 Division 091?  My son left 01/17/2012.  He will be going to Pensacola for his A school.

Anyone know what the Division flag looks like?

OMG! I am one happy Momma!  I received 2 letters today!! I am so excited.  He sounded good.  The first letter he was a little down and said he hadn't received letters in a couple of days, and I never miss a day, but the second letter he said he had received them all, just in one day. haha.  He is one of them designing the division flag, so I am excited.  I don't know what it's going to look like, but he said it's "Epic", haha.  He said there are still some people not taking things seriously and costing the division "hits".  They are in dead last of all the divisions.  He's very frustrated with those SR's.  He said this is hell week with all the the inspections and their 2nd academic test.  They need our prayers this week!

Thank you so much for the heads up. My daughter feels the same way. I hope to receive a letter from her tomorrow as I usually get them on Wed. I found out from a former sailor that they graduate the day before Saint Patties day and that Chicago makes a big tado about it. They even dye the river green. If you plan to go to Chicago please count for the extra traffic.

I had read that too.  We plan on attending some of the festivities, depending on when my SR leaves for A school, because I will spend as much time with him as I possibly can.  I know he flies out Saturday, but don't know exactly when.  It should be an interesting experience for us small town folks.

How did you find out when he leaves for A school? I didnt think we would find that out until a week before PIR.

He is not doing A school in Great Lakes, he's going to Pensacola, and 99% of the time, they head out Saturday.  They usually go to the airport early in the wee hours of the morning, but sometimes they don't fly out until that afternoon.  Usually the only time they won't fly out on Saturday is if it's a holiday weekend.  I kind of wish St. Patrick's Day was a federal holiday. lol.

My daughter is also going to Pensacola and she said she will have the whole weekend off. I am confused. How do we get the facts?

I don't know.  I am going off of what all the veteran moms say, and what I have read on the RTC facebook page.  I hope she is right and I am wrong!  I asked my SR in one of my recent letters to try to find out, but I know they don't get the final details until the last week usually.  Makes it really hard to plan :(

My daughter and Your Brittany are friends! Sounds like they are all coming together. The main focus is to graduate.

Thanks for the information.  I haven't heard from K last Wednesday but I expect something today.  Can't wait to see the "Epic" design.  Even the grandparents ordered shirts.  I guess no matter what, since we will have our division shirts on we will look "epic" at PIR.  lol

Lol.  I hope you here from her today.  I know it's hard when you don't.  I'm not sure what Epic is going to be like, but I will wear it proudly. :)

I got a large envelope with the letters she has received (I sent it to her last week) but nothing personal for us.  Not worried, as we know, no news is good news!  And our post office seems to be a day behind the rest of the country.  Keeping my fingers crossed for tomorrow.
