Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Thank you, Johanna. mainly we need prayer for wisdom, direction and peace! I don't know whether to tell him to stay and fight and make his stay there 1-2 more months and then still not get approved and have that long agonizing wait there all by himself and still end up having to leave and come home, or just tell him to come on home! I have been counting down the days and was so excited to see him graduate!;'( This is one of the hardest things I have had to deal with in a long time! :( I can't stop crying because I know he has worked so hard and now is having to come home with nothing to show for what he has done:/ he said they did the chamber yesterday. He said their final PFA was supposed to be tomorrow. He didn't even get to do that part and show that he has worked hard to pass it;( I am so sad for him because I know he is upset about it and I can't be there to hug him and help him thru it. He has to lay there tonight and think about all this and I can't be there for him!;'(

Leslie, you are there for him and he knows it! Let's get that strait. Our boys know that we are always by their side no matter what and we will not leave them and as much as we love them God loves them even more then we can. I know what you mean by wanting to physically be there, but I am sure Chris knows you are as there as you can possibly be. I don't think he doubts that for one moment. You tell him to do whatever is going to make him not have one regret. If he can go home and know that he gave it his all and it just wasn't what God had for him after 7 weeks, then go home with his head held high because God has something else equally amazing in store for him. If that is not enough for him and he needs to stay and fight that extra 1 to 2 months, then stay and fight. I will support you both in prayer throughout. I know this is tough for both of you. It is so tough. The decision to join the Navy was a tough one and whatever went into making that decision must go into making this one. That same fight is in him. I know the man who has run with shin splints through 2 PFA's and many of drills and has trained with our boys for 7 weeks must be a fighter. He has to do whatever is going to help him live out his life without regret. HANG IN THERE MOM!!! YOU ARE LOVED!!!!!!

Leslie, I will commit to praying for those things specifically. I can't imagine what you are going through, and my heart aches for what you must be feeling for your son. I wish I had more wisdom to offer you. I am a firm believer that God will see you and your son through this. My son was origionally supposed to go to bootcamp in July '11. We had 6 months of hell, before he went in January. I didn't know if we were going to make it. I was so blessed and humbled by friends, family and a strong group of prayer warriors who carried me through our situation. I know things seem dark now, but I'm confident this will only make you and your son stronger. There is a light at the end of this tunnel and God will see you through to it. I am very tearful as I write this. While I know our situations are vastly different my heart was torn apart as I know yours is now. Stay strong.

I just talked to Chris. He sounded so much better than yesterday!! thank the Lord! I didn't even cry when I was talking to him this time!!! HUGE accomplishment since I haven't been able to stop crying! lol Anyway, he is going to appeal it and fight all the way. He said he has a lot of resources there to help him he said. I feel a lot better after talking to him! He is so mature!! He is definitely a differnt person than when he left here! I told him that he has a lot of people praying for him and standing with him through all this! Thank you so much for your support and continued prayers for Chris. He said he has 2 appeals available to him. 1st one will take 20 days, if they don't approve it, then 2nd is to the admoral and it will take 30 days!! He said we are not allowed to come see him :( I hate that we can go see him during all this! They said if it doesn't get approved he will have to come home, be off meds for a year and 100% asymptomatic before he can try to come back. I am so proud of him!! It breaks my heart that he won't be able to march through those doors next Friday but He is doing everything he can to make that happen one day! We are going to start praying now that the appeal will not take that long and he will receive an answer sooner than what is expected so he doesn't have to be there 2-3 months waiting! I so wish we could go see him at least through all the waiting!:( I think I can finally make it without crying any more now after talkin to him!:) WE have a long road ahead of us and I know it is going to be a very bumpy and difficult one to travel but in the end it will be for his good! Please, Please, continue to keep him in your prayers and that God's will be done for his life. NOT my will, but His! I am so thankful to have all of you to lean on and to know that you are standing with us in prayer! Thank you all so much! I know you are all getting so excited and yes, it saddens me to see the posts now about leaving but know that I am happy for all of you and excited that you all are almost there!:) God bless each and every one of you. I will continue to keep you updated as we go along:)

While at MEPS I heard a story about a girl/woman who when they started PT was found to have a fracture in her femur. It was not caught in the physical. She was told not to leave base because once you leave it is hard a "hell" to get back. Just tell him to keep fighting and if this is truly what he wants.....FIGHT TOOTH and NAIL!! Tell we are thinking about him. Oh and by the way....she just graduated from Basic!!

Please give each of your SRs, soon to be sailors:), a big hug from me and tell them how proud I am of them and thanfk them for their hard work and for their service for our great country!:) I was looking SO forward to meeting all of you:( I hate that I won't get to meet the faces that are such a support for me right now!

I am very saddened by this unfortunate news, and because I am not a mother, I can only imagine what type of hardships you are facing right now. Your post really made me tear up because I know that your son has put in all the work just like the rest of the boys to make it this far..however, I would just like to reassure you that everything is going to turn out for the better. No matter what plan God has for your son, it will be for the good! You are a part of OUR Navy Family and we will always keep you and your son in our hearts and prayers. Remember, we are here for you!
