I have been wondering about that much liberty, hopefully we will have a least fri and maybe sat.

Too bad our sons couldn't swap places.  You are much closer to TX where Haven will be and I'm only an hour from Pensacola.  :(  Although...they may prefer it this way!!!

Where in TX:?

He's going to San Antonio.

My brother in law was a florida born boy who went into the Coast Guard and was stationed in Alaska of all places.  He has never left there it is where he calls home. My husband, when he went into Navy wanted outside of Florida, whereas most of the recruits wanted warm areas,  He went to Seattle after RTC. I know my son is hoping for an aircraft carrier assignment.  In saying all this I am realizing that the short time after PIR I will have with him there will be alot we will want to say. :)

Sorry it took so long to get back on.  Had a computer problem.  Just got it back from first aid.  Yes, it is my first child in the military.  I have 2 older daughters.  One is a teacher and the other works for the University of Tn.  My youngest daughter decided to follow in her dad's footsteps and go the military route.  He was a Marine.  She chose the Navy.  I am so proud of her and I am so grateful for this website.  My friends are all great but only one of them knows what Military life is like.  This website makes me feel connected and not so alone.

I asked my daughter's recruiter about leave.  He said they would find out about 3 weeks before graduation if she will leave the day after graduation for A school or get leave first.

I hate to tell you this, but every post I have read on this and every other site I've seen says they will be leaving on Saturday for their A School.  The only reason they wouldn't leave is if they can't get enough flights and then they would leave on Sunday.  So, I wouldn't count on your daughter coming home on leave.  Plus, they said the recruits find out after Battle Stations when they are leaving and that is just a couple of days before PIR.

Teachermom, that's great to know. Thanks for the insight... :)

ML,

Our kids are in one of the Divisions who role at RTC is performance.  My son in his note home on the PIR paperwork was that he is in the Performance Division and is part of the drill team.  But also know they also have some of the SR who play insturments in the division also.  He said he will be performing at the graduation.  :)

My daughter was in 4 years JROTC and on the Drill Team.  I guess they are really staying busy.   I am glad. Maybe they won't have time to be homesick.   Where do you live?  We live in Tennessee.

What part of TN?  We used to live in middle TN (Lewisburg) before we moved to FL.
