Hi all!  I don't post much here because this site confuses the life out of me... user error, I'm sure, ha!  I can't believe that two weeks from today we will be in Great Lakes!!!!  I will confess that reading all of your posts has stressed me a tiny bit.  You see, I'm deathly afraid that my son is one of the guys holding the division back from receiving top honors.  I know that he has contributed to all of the written testing, but as of his last letter, still had not passed his PFA.  When he first got to boot, he got really sick and was SIQ (sick in quarters) for 2 days.  He took his first PFA right before he was sent to SIQ and missed it by one sit up.  Then, when he took it again, he missed it by one push up. He rocks at running and swimming so those were no problem.  He's a scrawny thing--5'11", 150 lbs. soaking wet, so upper body strength could be an issue.  And of course, he didn't need to train before hand...just ask him. (said dripping with sarcasm).  Anyway, I woke last night at 3 a.m. really feeling like the Lord was telling me to pray for him.  Maybe he's testing again today?  I'm SO anxious that I'm going to get that dreaded call telling me he has to stay back.  Plus, I'm so worried that he has held the division back!  Please forgive this long post, but I wanted to add how I was feeling...  Thanks for letting me vent.  Have a wonderful day and go 087!!!!!!!!!!!

That's great Candy! I also will be taking pictures for ya by the way...

Candy isn't your SR going to TX for Hospital Corpsman school? I know that they have a wait on starting school down there now. Just asking to see if you have more details! But way to go GIRL!!! I am happy for you!!!!! God is so Good to us!!

Lucky you!!!!!  That is awesome.  I am so happy for you. (((hugs)))

Kitty, Roy Boy is your son? Can't wait to meet everybody!

No, he is my son's friend.  They were Deppers together for several months. My son is Tim.

I can't tell you how glad this makes this mama's heart! Tell that boy to sing, sing, sing those country songs! Make our division country strong! Woohoo!!

littleturtle - this is a link for Calling Baton Rouge - love me some fiddle!!!! It's a great way to kick off Friday! Ahhh-EEEee (that's ya - hoo Louisiana style!) If TN and Roy Boy don't know the tune, my son can hum the first few lines...should be interesting!

Jeana, I would like to post a reply to your posting, but whenever I hit "add reply", I never know where it's going to end up...anyhoo, we are all worried about our kids in one way or another. I'm sure my kid's biggest challenge is to keep his mouth shut lol. No, really. They are working together as a team. Maybe you think your kid is the weakest link, but this is not a test for individuals as much as it is about acting as a team. I can see my son encouraging yours to work on his push ups. If he's not, he's not doing his job either. We are all going to pass together, or fail together. Like little turtle said, it's OUR kids. I'm praying too, as is all the other moms...(((hug)))

Thanks Paula.  That really means a lot to me.  Your prayers are coveted.  Just read on the FB site that there is a mom in Chicago right now for graduation and her son didn't graduate--no call, just a letter on Tuesday saying that he thought it might be a possibility because he didn't pass the float part of the swim test.  Can you imagine?  She can't even see him.  Something is wrong with that picture...I can't imagine that they'd let her fly in without a phone call?  Oh boy, let's add a little more stress... :/

Our recruiting officer told us that halfway through (which I interpreted to mean after 4 weeks) we would get a letter telling us he was going to graduate. Hmmm...maybe someone needs to check gas prices. Oh, yeah, it's EXPENSIVE. The family needs to be called!!!

Did he say it would come from your recrit or RTC? RTC does not send anything out.
