Time is passing by and I haven't made flight plans for PIR. Do you fly into Chicago? I'm sure there's a page for this....can someone direct me to it?
2 days ago I received a call from my son requesting names, addresses and phones of his security references. He couldn't chit chat, but it was so good to hear his voice. He said they are on Day 1, Week 1 of training. I was surprised that processing took so long.
I received the same type of phone call from my son. He needed the birth places of his step father and step sisters and couldn't remember what year his little brother was born. I got to talk to him twice for about 3 minutes but it made my entire month.
My son, Ryan is going to Pensacola for IT.
That is nice to know. I am glad Ryan will be back in Florida. It is a 7 hour drive but I hope to go see him when he is in Pensacola.
We are flying from Tampa to Midway. My husband and I will be traveling with our youngest so I was thrilled to find flights from Tampa to Midway that were nonstop.
What day are you planning on arriving in Chicago?
We plan on getting there on Thursday the 12th, we will be staying at the Ramada. Wow your in Tampa, we are in Orlando! we plan on saving all our vacation time so that we can take 1 or 2 days here and there to take long weekends to visit him in Pensacola. From everything I have read he will get some liberty to there. There are several groups on here from pensacola, this one http://www.navyformoms.com/group/sailorsinpensicolaflforaschool?xg_... and a CTN one that I joined. You can get some information there.
I have not booked our flights yet, I am torn on flying back on Saturday or Sunday, when are you coming back?
We are coming back on Sunday. Ryan said he wouldn't know until week 6 or 7 if he was going to have weekend leave or not so I decided to take the chance and come home on Sunday. If he doesn't have any leave time, we will do a little site seeing in Chicago.
We are staying at the Navy Lodge. It was $65 a night with no sales tax.
I better make a decision soon on the flight. Are you going to any of the meet & greets?
I was thinking about it but I'm not sure how "family" friendly they are since we will have our 8 year old with us. If they are then we would enjoy going and meeting the other families.
