Hello!  I did get a letter from my son today.  He is a master at arms which he said is upkeep of the compartment and to help maintain discipline. He said the same thing about the food, that it is really good.  He said bootcamp isn't bad but the work out is tough but it doesn't last long. He was very upbeat and sounds like he is enjoying the new adventure.

Has anyone else received a letter?  Would love to hear how your loved one is doing.

Hey There! Recieved a few letters from mine. Doing great but he's a Florida boy so he was very happy that they provided proper clothing ...lol He also said he met some great guys and his bunk mate is hilarious so that makes it easier. pt isn't bad, it's the folding clothes that he needs to get used to ...ha  Can't wait to meet everyone and see our SRs!

I wonder if any of our young men are friends?  That would be a hoot that we are friends here and they are friends there!!

Hello everyone!  I'm finding today to be a little tough.  My SR is my only child and is 27 today.  This will be the first birthday I haven't been able wish him a happy birthday.  He is single and has been living on his own for quite a few years but came home to live during the holidays when his apt lease expired since he was going to be leaving for bootcamp. I think being out on his own and being older has made it a little easier for him... but having him home those few months has made me really miss him. I hope they are all  becoming friends and have been able to help one another. I know reading the emails from other moms has made it easier for me.  It's nice to know we are not alone.  Have a nice evening!

Lisa, I know the feeling.  My SR is my only child too and his birthday is on March 19th.  He will be 19 and will be the first time I haven't been able to give him gifts or take him to dinner or something!  Although it may be a bit devilish, I think I am going to send him a birthday card with confetti in it.  LOL

My SR ask that we not send cards but couldn't  do it.  I sent him a card hoping he didn't mind the blue envelope.  It's hard to find a card that doesn't say "celebrate" or "relax and enjoy your day".  Especially when we know they are not doing anything "fun".  I am sure  your SR will enjoy his card!   Hope to get to meet you in April!

LOL I am just being "me" by sending him the card with the actual confetti in it.  I know he will clean it up but he will do it smiling I am sure!  I bet he probably doesn't even get surprised by the confetti because he will suspect I would do it!
