While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Sorry I dont know of anything that is close but my Aunt and Cousin live close and she said there is alot around there. I cant wait to meet you in person.

I found some interesting information today during my hours of searching. :-)
- A school is 14 weeks, but they do have about a month of waiting until they actually start classes. During the waiting period they will have some orinetation classes, stand watch & do a lot of cleaning
- .if you meet your Sailor at O'Hare airport, the bus coming from Great Lakes drops all Sailors off at terminal two because that is where the USO office is located
- Tell them to enjoy the down time ans STUDY STUDY STUDY because once school starts, it's very intense.

Kathy, This is wonderful !!!!!!!!! Where did you find all of this out. I am ordering the flash cards today from Amazon... I dont know if they will call on Wednesday. Am i right they will start next wed is there 3 rd week of training??? I get confused.

Hello Families of ship 04 Div 120. Looking forward to meeting you all and your boys that have been my son's support system for the past 2 weeks/next 6 weeks. I was wondering if anyone out there knows the answer to this question. If my family plans to leave on Sat. around noon, can we give our son his cell phone, laptop, etc... before he/we leave for the airport? We might not get the chance to see him off at the airport so wondering about giving him his stuff before leaving for the airport. I hope that makes sense.

From what I have read he can have it as long as he is not on base. It might pose a problem giving it to him before due to him leaving from the base. Sorry, I maybe wrong but that is what I have found so far.

Hi All,
Is anyone's son, husband, boyfriend going to A school in Pensacola, FL for the Criptology studies? My son will become a "spy" decoder for the military's (computer firewall) infrastructure. He's got the brains and the Navy wants to use him! ha ha!

Just read both of your msgs and it looks like we're all in the same boat (no pun intended). Letters sure do heal the longing heart, huh? I'm gonna sit down right now (after this msg.) and write to Anthony once again. I'm sure our boys are becoming best of friends. Our letter will be filled with all the same questions & info. about if they've met each other and how us mom's are connecting too ... too funny.

I have been writing to Erick since last night and at the same time reading your posts. I am so happy for this website. It has given me very good information and showed me that I am not alone in this journey, roller coaster. It has been tough and I'll admit, I have my very hard days and try to stay as busy as possible so I won't think about my Erick and sustain from crying. Every time I read a post about someone receiving a letter or receiving a call I cry, don't know if it's because I am happy or sad, it probably is both. Happy for those who were lucky to receive the phone call and those who received their letters. I hope soon we start getting those also.
