I booked my flights, we arrive on the april 12th at O'Hare and are staying at Red Carpet. Sarge will pick us up for a rate of $54 to pick us at airport and $48 to take us back to airport on Sunday and he will also take us to PIR for free. I just don't know if he will pick us up from hotel and take us to Sundance Saloon and bring us back to hotel after meet and greet. I did RSVP for the meet and greet at Sarge's Sundance Saloon. Hope we all can meet there!!
I am happy for those who got letters, let's keep our spirits up if we didn't, at least we know that pretty soon we will receive one.
Blessing,
Gracie
Hello ladies!!
I RECEIVED A LETTER MONDAY!!! I was not expecting it at all! But, I did find out that my SR got selected for Mail Petty Officer so instead of only being able to send mail on Sundays, he gets to send his mail any day!! So, hopefully yall's SRs sent their letters on Sunday so you should be getting them on Thursday or Friday! So keep your heads up and keep stalking the mail man!! lol My SR sounded like he was doing good!! He said it was tough but he could get through it and knew he had to stay focused! So, if you are worried about your SR sending a sad letter, don't worry just yet!!
Hey!!! I just received my boyfriends letter today!!! soooo happy! This has been the best day ever!!! But the last letter he wrote to me was March 3 and he said he hasnt received ANY of my letters yet!?!?!?! I started sending them out the Feb 28! Maybe im not writting the address correctly? i hope hes getting my letters I feel bad...
I saw on the address he sent it from he wrote "SHIP 04 USS ARLEIGH BURKE DIV 120"
In his formal letter he never sent the "USS ARLEIGH BURKE" part?! is that what im suppose to do?
Someone please help thanks!
claudiailana,
The form letter doesn't have the ship name on it so I didn't put it either! I think it's ok, just from now on I will put that just in case!! My boyfriend even said "write the address just like I did". Since it wasnt in the form letter I dont think there will be a problem, just write the whole thing on your next letters! Also, on the RTC website it says the mail can take 5-10 days to get to them and a girl also told me it takes longer for them to get our letters than it does for us to get theirs! I sent my letters on the 28th too and my boyfriend mailed his first batch to me on 3/1. So I'm sure they have gotten them by now! I hope!!
I am very happy that you received your letter, please post for us that aren't getting it yet. We are hoping that we get the letters soon!!
Blessings,
Gracie
I am so happy for you, wish I would get my letter!! That is GREAT that he gets to send letters more often, what a relief. God bless him and your family. I will keep stalking my mailbox!!
I didn't get a letter today and I am so sad!! But I know I will get one soon, but REALLY I am sooo happy for you!! Keep sharing for us that we haven't received calls nor letters.
Blessing,
Gracie
Hello Ladies,
I'm tryingnot to check this site too much just so I don't cry so much. Just to let you all know, my worries and stress has caused my chest to break out in hives, Oh lucky me!!! lol! I suppose I let myself get so worked up that my body wasn't use to all this emotion. I'm trying to relax and stay calm and it seems to help with the itching.
NO letter yet here in California. As you said Gracie "I will keep stalking my mailbox!"
Oh, are we all on the same page for a M&G? I think if everyone gets in on thurs. early enough, we should go to the Sarge's M&G at 6pm.. sound good?
Rose
I did RSVP to the meet and greet at Sarge's. i am so sorry you are breaking out in hives, hope that goes away soon, relax, I know it's easier said than done but we have to be well so when we c our Sailors we are in good health(mental and physical, lol) I can't wait to meet you all, shall we wear a special color or shirt for the meet and greet, is it a casual thing?
Glad you are going also and where are you staying at?
Blesssing,
Gracie
Hi Gracie,
Thanks for the reply, my hives are going away slowly but surely.
So, how do you RSVP to sarge's M&G? We definitely want to go to that! You know, I was contemplating buying NAVY t-shirts for the 3 of us to wear during sometime over the weekend. Maybe we could all buy those and wear them to the M&G, what say you?
I saw that you booked your hotel. It's in North Chicago, right? I was really wanting to stay in Waukegan, but we'll see. I'm looking to book everything tomorrow, 3/9.
Rose
Go on the right hand side of your screen, it will say coming events,it shows a calendar,it says last month/ next month click on next month and it will give u April 12 date for the Sarge's meet and greet it will have RSVP, maybe, no, or yes and you pick what u want. I think that would be great!! Where would we buy them from? website or a particular store that might sell them? Yes, Red Carpet Inn.
Hope we get a letter soon!! I am going CRAZY!!! It's really starting to hit my little boy. He wants to make sure we are doing something everyday so he won't think about his brother. :(
Gracie
Good morning Ladies,
I am praying extra hard for a letter today. I am not sure how many more days I can go without hearing from him. My extended family all think I have went nuts because my emotions are so up and down. If I have heard it once I have heard it 100 times "He is at bootcamp not dead" I'm not a physical person but I swear I could slap someone. Praying everyone has a GREAT day and we all get letters.
Blessings, Kathy
Kathy,
You are too funny!! Thanks for the laugh that I've longed for. I feel your pain sister. I've gotten myself so worked up that I've broken out in hives and boy are they itchy, yuck!
I mentioned to Gracie that maybe we should all buy NAVY t-shirts and wear them to Sarge's M&G or on PIR day. Just a thought.
I'm with you on the praying for a letter SOON!! I've been sending out fun/cute postcards. I just hope Anthony gets them sporatically rather than all together.
Keep the faith girlfriend,
Rose
