Hi, Skyla, my name is Gracie and I finally received my letter today, hopefully tomorrow u will get your first letter! Don't loose faith, My son said that he was able to write on Sunday for the first time and I saw somewhere that sometimes you might get the letter on Thursday of Friday, so there is still hope that u get it tmrrw. I will be praying for you and your husband. Continue to write, they can receive letters every day but can't send theirs until Sundays.
I think my son hasn't received any of our letters, hopefully he will start getting them soon so he won't think we are not writing to him. :(
Blessing,
Gracie
Welcome Skyla,
It is so great to have another family member here. I will be praying you receive your letter/letters today. I have read that we should receive letters on either Thursdays or Fridays. I am in Central Florida and got ours yesterday. Im sure today will be your day. Please stay in contact with us and let us know if you get one. I have found a great set of ladies (very supportive) here and with all of us having the same emotions/fears it really helps.
Blessings,
Kathy
Hi Skyla, I am Joanne, Matt's mom. Welcone to our group. How old is your huband Matt wrote there are several older guys in his division to him older is over 20. He is Eighteen. But they have helped him out so much giving him advice. Plus he said he met friends and they are like a family. I hope all of our boys are together.

That is so funny, my son must be one of the older guys. Joe just turned 21 Christmas eve. Joe did say in his letters that he is trying to help a lot of the guys. That is his nature to help people but I didn't realize that he prob. is one of the older guys. Prob. not all that funny to everyone else but me as his momma I had to chuckle.
Blessings,
Kathy
Hello MattsMom...I accepted your friend request and sent you a message to your inbox.
Hi Skyla, welcome aboard, haha! Good to have another member to our group. You will find this site feed very informative and get good ideas about flights, hotels, etc... Are you planning on coming to PIR? I sure hope so so we can all meet you. If you are flying in there is a Sarge's meet & greet on Ap. 12 at 5:30 -8. Several of us will be there so maybe you can RSVP too if you'll be in town at that time.
Blessings to you,
Rose
Attention!
Hi Ladies,
I thought it a good idea if we all invite each other to be "friends" so we can pass private notes and info. for facebook. As Kathy mentioned fb might be easier for us to communicate.
Rose
I agree with you Rose, it's easier for me to check my fb and u r right we can pass private note and info. Hope we all think the same. Look forward to adding you ladies to my fb friends. I got you Rose, it's great!!
Blessing,
Gracie
Hey Skyla!
Where will your SR go to school at? You should get letters any day now!
@Rose,
My name is Amanda! :)
@Joanne,
My boyfriend is 23 so he is one of the "older" ones as well! lol
Thanks Amanda, I do apologize for not remembering the first time. I won't forget, I promise!!
Rose
Thank-you all for praying. I did receive a letter today!!! He actually wrote me 6 pages:)) & he's not one for writing very much!
@Joanne: His name is Shawn, he just turned 20 on March 5.
I didn't send a birthday card though..his recruiter told me not to send anything like that. He actually told me in one of the letters...that he started talking to a few of them and giving them advice. I can't imagine what on though, lol. He seemed rather lonely in the beginning.Then towards the end of the letters, he seemed much more mellowed out.
I mentioned to him in the letter I was writing some of your son's names, and boyfriends. I hope that was alright. I was curious if he knew them or not.
@Amanda: We were told it should be in Connecticut. Groton I believe. He was going in for Fiber optics and computer technology on a sub?? Which i have no clue what exactly that means. lol
Oh cool!! Yeah it seems that at the beginning most of the guys were kinda down but as time has gone by they seem to get better! I received two letters on Monday, three yesterday, and one today!!! My boyfriend is the Mail Petty Officer so he gets to send mail whenver he wants. In these last few letters he has seemed MUCH better!!! Especially once he started getting all of my million letters! lol Are you going to PIR?
