Just got my first "real" call!!  Unfortunately wasn't as long as I thought it would be.  Too many questions and not enough time!  Lasted about 5 minutes.  But wonderful to hear his voice.  Said a letter was in the mail.

I got a phone call Wednesday night literally a 5 minute call. He seems to be doing ok. Soooo happy to hear his voice!!

Mine was on Wednesday evening also, they must have been in the same group when they made their "5" minute call.  Heard the guys in the background start yelling "Times up, get off the phone"  or something to that effect.  Was bummed wasn't longer, but got an 11 page letter the next day.  Sounded great!  Hopefully time will pass quickly and PIR will be here before you know it!

On Wednesday night our SR called his girlfriend (our request). She called to tell us that he sounded tired, but all seemed to be going well. He's the Chaplain for the division and has enjoyed doing devotions each evening. As part of his job he has to usher on Sunday mornings at the Chapel so he finally gets a chance to smile and talk to people. He wrote to tell us that they have an Olympic swim coach and the best divers in the fleet working with them. He shaves three times a day, which he doesn't like. They have had 12 guys drop out or get disqualified. One day they came back from PT and all their clothes were in a big pile in the middle of the floor. He said he misses music, especially his banjo. He told us some hilarious stories, but they aren't appropriate to share on this site. At least he hasn't lost his sense of humor!

Hi Ladies - On Wednesday Evening our SR called his girlfriend and was only able to talk for 5 minutes.  His girlfriend called us and shared their conversation.  He is doing well and he also mentioned several of the guys were disqualified and/or dropped out.  I received a letter and the N4M Questionnaire on Thursday.  On the questionnaire he mentioned last names of 4-5 SR's he befriended.  I can't help but wonder if one of those SR's has a mom in this group.  He also said he has no regrets what so ever and is proud to serve.  Love that SR of mine!

Rtb - Wow!  An 11 page letter, that is great.  I'm so happy for you.

Bob's mom  - That's great your SR is the Chaplain of the Division.  I'm hoping my SR is taking advantage of  Devotion time.

Hope you all have a great evening!

If you'll "friend" me, we can compare names privately.

i also accepted your friend request.  Not really sure what is public and private on this site!  I'm aware this is public.  Sent a personal message also.

Bob's mom - I accepted your friend request!

Chazlyrn61 - i just sent you a message!

Wendy J--I sent you a message in your in box.

To you rescue swimmer moms, We tailgate with a fella who was a Navy rescue swimmer. He said they prepped them so well in the swimming pool that by the time he got to the ocean, it was a piece of cake.

Also, has anyone heard from beccasusan? She hasn't made a comment in awhile and I'm worried about her.

I think I remember reading something about he injured himself and was taken out of the division and put on medical?   Not positive though.
