While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

My boyfriend got injured at boot camp
My boyfriend dislocated his kneecap this week. He is currently on medical and his graduation date has been delayed. This is all I know. Does anyone have any idea what happens now or how I can get more information? Any advice? Please?

I'm sorry to hear this. As Cor said, he is in good hands. Join SHIP 04 DIV 2341 and/or Ship 6 (Sick or Injured Recruits)waiting to return to a division to... to get more info. Ship 4 is the RCU-Recruit Convalescent Unit-where sick or injured recruits go to heal and be cycled back into another TG. They used to be on Ship 6, so that is why you may want to check out te Ship 6 group.
If he is in the first half of BC, then once he is declared Fit for Service, then he will most likely be moved to a new division and be given a new PIR date. If he is in the last half of BC, then he most likely will complete training on the RCU and then go on to Battle Stations-21 and not be assigned to a new division and he also would go on to A School without a PIR.

My son has been very sick with the flu and was ready to throw in the towel. That was his letter he wrote on Sunday, but here it was Thursday and we had heard nothing else. I called his recruiter, but they were having a big inspection, so he wasn't able to take my call. I was beside myself. Then about 6 p.m. that evening, my son called me -- he sounded very good and said he was being treated aggressively and has, so far, been able to stay in his division. It's so hard being "cut off" from them during this time, except for the snail mail -- which, in this case, was torture...LOL.
I hope your boyfriend is doing better. He is in good hands and I hope he has a full and speedy recovery.

Don't worry, gigi, the Navy will take good care of your SR. They'll let him convalesce until he is 100%. This is part hearsay, part experience, but the Public Affairs Office, (847) 688-2405, will only give out information if your SR signed an information release waiver for you. Otherwise, you just get affirmation that he is still on base/installation. He will just have to write and let you know how he's doing during letter writing time. My SR son finally wrote me after ONE MONTH in FIT (he didn't make his run time) to tell me he's in RCU now. During that one month, I was going bonkers trying to find out ANYTHING from anybody! I guess he was too busy starting a chess club and catching up with his reading! Argh! But all the anger and frustration melted away when I heard his voice yesterday. Good luck to your SR and you--it's not an easy journey for either of you. Just urge him to write.
