Is there anyone with a SR Ship 2 Div 919?  If yes, please comment on the status of your SR and your experience here.  My son is there.  We are from Texas.  I've already made our reservations at the Residence Inn.  I've been doing a lot of reading online and found that this place has nice 2 bedroom 2 bath suites with full kitchen.  I also spoke with a lady online that verified there is a wonderful free full hot breakfast and that he graduation is only 4 miles or so away from the hotel.  The online site state the suite will accommodate 6 comfortably.  I haven't gotten tickets yet as I'm watching the rates.  I've seen prices  fall as low as 200 RT.  However the deadline for use was prior to my departure date.  Chime in if you are going and will be staying at the same hotel.  Maybe we can have a meet and greet night at the hotel or something.  Can anyone tell I'm extremely excited about PIR and getting to see my SR turn Sailor.  Yeah!

HOOYAA!!! GOT OUR GATE PASS PRINTED OFF. SEE EVERYONE THERE!!!

I wish I had found facebook a long time ago. I was reading back through some of these messages and they are heartwarming. I experienced Navy Bootcamp for the first time when I was 18 years old with my first husband. I did a lot of crying. It didn't help that the movie Officer & A Gentleman was popular. Now fast forward 25years and my second child, my son decides he wants to join the Air Force. He was my baby boy! I missed him very much and he was sick the whole he was in bootcamp. Now two years later, my oldest daughter has graduated college with her BA and teachers credentials and there are no teaching jobs available. So she decides to follow in her dad's and papa's footsteps and join the Navy. She has wrestled with the thought for several years but she finally decided to do it. We are very proud of her. I guess I don't worry about her so much because she's been on her own for a couple of years already and she's a pretty indepenedent girl. She told me she would be preforming at graduation. She's playing the clarinet as well. She said she was appointed the role of Educational Petty Officer because of her educational background. She was also appointed as "Vertical" Yeoman. All that means is because she is the tallest person (6') she has to clean all the high places. lol  She seems to be having fun and doing well. She is striving to do better than her best.

Like so many of you, I've only gotten two phone calls and I missed the second one on Valentines day.

In reading your posts, I can tell that you have great son's, daughters, fiance's, and husband's. I know how hard it to not hear from them every day or each week.  It's good that there is support in each other, to share your ups and downs, your joys and sorrows. I would love to be a part of this and what little time is left and I would like to meet you all at the Meet and Greet too. I will keep you and your loved ones in my prayers...

Does anyone have any information on our flag?  My son said he helped design it but he didn't give any specifics on it.  If you have any insight please share with us.  Thanks

I haven't heard anything about our flag but I did get a letter from my daughter today. It was dated 2/28 and she said they earned 3 more Divisional flags. She siad Firefighting was going to be on that Friday which is "AWSOME". She's too funny! We are leaving Tuesday and the wait is starting to get to us. We are so proud of her and can't wait to see her graduate! I have to remember to bring tissues...lol

Great! Thanks for the info.  His letters are very short and to the point.  You post mention 3 MORE Divisional Flags.  Do you know what the flags are? And, how many have they earned all together?

My husband just called and said we got a letter today.  In the letter he talks about fire school coming up.  I've been trying to follow the Week-Day.  I'm so ready to see my SR=Sailor :-)  It seems as though time is standing still for me.... not moving fast enough.

I just read that a group may have finished battle stations so they are keeping the phones close.  :-)  oooohhhh... I'm so excited.

She never goes into detail. This was the first she mentioned about earing Divisional Flags but never said what they were for or how many they had earned to date. I think they start Battle station Monday but I could be wrong. Like you, I'm excited and have the phone attached to me and waiting. I found a link on Navy Recruit Training Command Facebook were on Tuesdays they post the names of graduates who will be receiving awards. Click on "Links" then go over to the Posts and look for "Recruit Trainin Command - Honor Grads". If I hear anymore I will let you know.  I'm getting emotional these days and breaking into tears for what seems to be for no reason. Graduations do this to me. lol

Check out facebook page - pictures of some of our kids show on March 9 graduation if they sing.  I got to the see the 1/4 head shot of my son....made my heart smile today....cant wait till Friday....smiles

They looked great didn't they! My daughter was in the band. I'm going to have to bring a box of tissues! lol I keep breaking into tears these days for no reasons. lol Can't wait to see them all on Friday. Congartulations families, MOMS, you made it! You did a great a great job in raising young men and women. God Bless You All!

Has anyone received a call yet???  If they are sailors yet...????  Let us know ASAP as soon as you do !!!!

ANY Phone calls yet???? I just read on facebook that 919 went to Battlestation Last Night!

Just got my I'm a sailor call from the Sarahoney!  Really exciting.

We got the call today! We have a SAILOR! Our daughter is a Sailor! I broke down in tears. She said she cried when they gave her her sailor cap. We are so proud of her and can't wait to see her Friday! She also said that the band will enter sometime between 7 and 7:30 am. They will be sitting in the stands. They will be allowed to come up and give us a hug at that time. Then they will later go back down and perform and stand with the rest. I was having a hard time hearing her but that is what I was able to hear. Congratulations Ship 02 Division 919!
