My son is 7/127 as well. I have not gotten the PIR date I can only assume its the same. No letters, no package, no phone calls yet.
Hallo Mel Honey... if you have the ship and the division ... how you have not gotten a letter , i only got this number with the letter from the navy...where the address and the ship with div. was written on it, also the PIR date.... and my son made a short note on the back of it ...i did not receive personal letters from my son and no calls, other then the one where he called at 12:40 in the morning of wednesday that he arrived, that was so short and it sounden like a robot
i got his cloth last Friday, and that letter came saturday
write me again soon... how you doing with the parting from your son ... i am still a mess
His recruiter gave it to me. I have not gotten a phone call, that makes me sad. I am having a hard time as well...its getting a little easier...but not much. I sent you a request, please accept and write me through that. Thanks!
Hallo Mel Honey ...
so sorry you did not hear from your son yet, when did he leave for bootcamp?
my Son left 2/28 ... we where there at meps for him to be sworn in ... we sat from 7:30 am till around 11 am, we did not go to the airport ...that night i could not sleep because i was waiting desperatly for his call ... i must had fallen asleep on the couch when the phone ring at 12:40 AM ... so after midnight... his voice was strange ... i kept him asking ...are you alright and he said yes...then he said he had to go... it was 15 sec. long... even so i was happy to hear his voice i was also sad... then that same week on friday we got his box with his cloth and the next day the letter from the navy where the PIR which is the graduation from Bootcamp date... he must had quickly put a little note on the very back, WHCIH MADE MY DAY ... i send him 6 letters yesterday and one today, his sister is also writing to him..
i just now had a moment...looking at his pictures and my heart is wrenching and hurting ... i just cant believe he is gone... my daughter thinks i am overdoing it ... but i had him for 20 years ... and this feels like a sudden aprupt cut off ... so how are you doing ... let me knw when your son left and how are you hanging in there ?
awww i feel so sad for the moms that expect to hear their "child" when they call.......Understand that they are under a lot of strews when they call... First, they are tired.....they got up early to go to the airport and spent the entire day in boredom waiting to get to "hell" The arrive in "hell" and have to pace until they can Pee.....this is hard under pressure....they can then call home and sy they made it alive, under the evil and wtchful eye of screaming petty officers......this is OK!!!! it helps your future sailor be strong! they must be broken down to be built back up, and trust me, the military knows what they are doing. be patient, and don't stress your child, because the outcome will move you to tears. be strong for them, and supportive, thats all they need from you now.
My son is the same. We have his address but we have not gotten any letters from him. His PIR date is 4/27 as well.
Don't feel too bad. The recruiter cant figure this out...Just know he is safe. They would call if something bad happened. I am still waiting for a letter, I have my box, but that is all. Hang in there!
My daughters PIR is 4/27/12 Ship 11 DIV 134
I got my first letter from my son today...he is ship 7
DIV 127 and PIR's on 4/27....its been 3 weeks since he left I am over joyed to get this letter, racing home now to read it!
o my MEL HONEY i am so excited for you ... anything in the letter you can share with us ... how is he doing...what is going on .... how wonderful how wonderful ...
oh it was short and sweet, he told me he can fold towels like a hotel maid...that made me laugh and really that is all I needed. He called me this morning, told me that he can make a bed that you can bounce a quarter off, shine shoes to such a high polish they look like mirrors. he has dropped a few lbs and sounded amazing.
