OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

FTLW explained that there are actually 6 weeks of training after P days then BS and practice for PIR.
Now, what to wear, what to wear...just can't figure it out yet!

Got a letter today. YEA!!!! SR sounds a little more positive. He has to have all 4 wisdom teeth cut out and he's actually looking forward to the pain killers and the rest!!! LOL He said he keeps going because he knows how proud we are of him.

Got 2 letters yesterday, both written last week. My daughter sounds good. She says she is doing well but really misses everyone at home. She says she has made some good friends there. It was so good to hear from her. Still no phone call. I would love to hear her voice.

We haven't had a phone call yet either. Still carrying my phone everywhere and refuse to silence it. If he gets to call, I'm going to hear it ring!

busy day here at my house... the roofers finished their part of my current construction project (gutters and windows tomorrow), picked up my new-to-me car, and got a letter from my SR!!! he sounds great! he had a wisdom tooth out last week and so got a couple days light duty and caught up on sleep :-)
@teachermom - he and your SR have already discussed the fact that you and i "know" each other from here :-) i am SO looking forward to seeing both our young men in a few weeks!

We got letters this week, also Jacob had an abnormal chest xray and had to have a ct scan done, went in the hospital for a day, thank the Lord, at first they said it was a mass and he would be in the hospital for at least 2 weeks. The doctor came in yesterday morning and said he could go back to base with light duty for one week and they will monitor what they are saying is a mass behind the lung. I was sorry worried him so far from home and nothing I can do about it. Thank the Lord, he didn't need any surgery or anything. Pray, pray, pray!!!

We are praying and will ask our church to pray. I cannot imagine how tough this is for you when you can't be there with him in person. Know that God is standing by his side. Does this change his PIR or just how much B.A.S.E.S. and IT they can do for the week?

Thanks for the prayers. I guess we will have to wait to get a letter from him on what happens next. I hope it doesnt change his PIR, if it changes he will miss his start at his A school.

I think they said you will get a phone call if it has been changed, so no call is GREAT at this point.

Well, I just got caught up with Jacob on Facebook, LOL. He is in SEPS waiting to come home in about 2 weeks. They discharged him because of his medical condition. They told him he could get a note from a physician that it is benign or have it removed, he could return. He is so disappointed, got halfway through and now this. I keep reminding myself that God has a plan, and I have to trust in him. Good luck to the rest of your SR'S, I will keep them in my prayers.
