Hi, My son Brett left for BC yesterday.  Reading the things people have posted or blogged about is helping me get through the hardest time of my life. I miss him like crazy and cannot stop wondering what he is doing right now. I know this is a great opportunity for him, so I am thrilled for him and super proud of him. I kept telling him that it was nice to know that he wasn't going to going though this alone, and I can say from my point, it is nice to know that there are so many going through the same things I am going through during this first part of his journey. I wish I wouls have had more time to become familiar with this sute prior to him leaving, but am glad to read about all of the different stages that everyone on the site is going through.

Hi, there!  My husband left on March 7th, he is Ship 9 Div 138!  I also share all the exact same feelings you have shared!  I received his "box" exactly a week after he left, still waiting for the form letter with his PIR date and any other form of communication I can get from him! ;-)

My Daughter left March 6th and she is in the 925 Div.  I recieved her box and a very short letter the friday after she left. I can completely understand where your comming from this is the Second person I have sent off to boot. Althought the first time was 20 years ago the feelings are the same.  If you would like I can maybe answer some questions for you.  just an offer to help is all.  You will find that  Navy Families are far and wide but we take care of all.

Good Luck

Hi, there! my daughter left on March 7 from Guam.  She has lived all her life in the Philippines where both my husband and I also live.  I got her call on March 8 in the morning here in the Philippines.  Have not received yet any letter from her.  Dont know whats her ship and division number.  Been waiting since last week.  I have read so many posts in N4MS but still cant help but worry for her. Can anybody help me?

You will soon know your SR's PIR date if you don't already; be sure to go to http://www.navyformoms.com/forum/topics/groups-listed-by-pir-date and join the group when it has formed.  I also suggest that you join, or at least look at the info, in these groups:  New Members Stop HereBoot Camp Mom's and PIR Reference Information. thanks a lot.  you have been a great help. i feel so alone because i don't know any Mom  coming from the Philippines whose daughter is in BC. will link with the sites you have suggested

You are so very welcome.  Although there may not be another mom from the Philippines (there have been a few from time to time, so who knows), you will have a lot in common with the other moms, especially those in the PIR group.

Sometimes it takes about 2 weeks but you should hear from her soon.  It's ok to worry but please don't make your self sick over it.  All will be fine if there was a problem they would call you or have someone contact you with  number for you to be able to contact her.  I'm sure she's fine just getting all the med calls and uniforms issued.

chin up all will be well.
