Prayin'navymom and Julie - thanks for the encouragment and the cyberhugs!! I'm really doing ok and feel at peace. Just awaiting the arrival of the box so I'll feel like we're getting closer.
I get everyone's comment updates on my iPhone but for some reason it doesn't allow me to comment/post so I have to wait until I get to my computer. Just don't think I'm ignoring you! :o)
We've had gorgeous weather here in STL today! Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend.
Hi 1ProudMom...
I love MO! My sister's Father-in-law lives in Lake of the Ozarks...we went there a few years ago...I did not want to come back to CA! You guys have ALOT of bugs there though! Yikes!
I tried to touch base with everyone over the weekend as well, and wasn't very successful. I am still confused on so much of this stuff, espcecially some of the lingo. I watched some awesome videos that is posted on the Navy DEPS& MEPS familes group..that has helped me understand alot of what the kids are doing everydqay and how this works...kind of :)
Super happy for you that you have received her info! That is awesome!
I am going to call my son's recuiter and see if he has at least the division ship info. The recruiter said if I didn't hear from him within 2 weeks from March 7th that I could call him. I am not going to be able to hold out that long ...lol. I cannot believe how anxious I am just to hear something...anything! lol.
I know he is fine, but cannot wait until I hear form him that he is ok. I judt pray as well...not much we can do other than that! Hope you have a great day! God bless, smile n'take care!
My son left on march 5th. He is going in as medical Corpsman and then see what opens up later. He would like to do medical search and rescue. He is almost 20 and is on Ship USS kennedy right now . O9 division 135. I am hoping to connect wit those who have kids on this ship. I got his box and the first phone call and have been writing and sending letters. I am waiting for his paperwork to find out when he graduates from Boot. It was harder the first week for me but am praying for his every step.
Anna
Anna ~ Welcome! When did you find out his division?
I've only received my phone call and hoping for her box in the next couple of days. My daughter will be 20 this year also.
Praying seems to be all we can do (and it's the best thing for them anyway)!
I JUST got an e-mail from her recruiter with her address. She's USS John F. Kennedy Ship 09
Division 138. Can I tell you, I have not a clue what that means!! :o)
Hi 1ProudMom, My Son left March 8th from Newark.we got Our phone call 12;17 Friday morning.I could hear the nervousness in his voice. This past Wednesday i got the box..i'm hoping to hear something soon. The only information I have is that He made it. Anything from your Daughter?
Hello JtsMom - we got our phone call about 8:30pm on March 7th. She was clearly upset and crying but otherwise alright. Of course the call was very scripted and brief. We received our box on Monday, March 12th and got her form letter this past Saturday (3/17). She was able to write a brief personal note which was wonderful! Her tentative PIR is May 4th.
Have you been able to get your son's address from his recruiter? He will have it by now. As soon as you find out his ship/division, be sure to find the group on here. It's wonderful to speak to other mom's whose SRs are with yours! Let me know if you need help finding your group.
Hope your letter comes tomorrow! *fingers crossed*
