I read that beccasusans SR was discharged. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers. I friended her but have not had it accepted. :'(

My son is in this division and he did tell me in one of his letters that a cuople of people were leaving due to medical reasons but he did not tell me their names.  He too said that their division was having a tough time and might have to re-peat a certain area, however that was about two or three weeks ago, so maybe they are doing better now.  I do know he got the fastest time in the pool, maybe that was do to all his high school days being on the swim and water polo team!!  Im so excited to meet you Moms of the other boys who room with my boy..LOL

Letters today!  His girlfriend called to tell me she had received his letters.  He is only allowed to send two a week (I don't know if that is true for everyone else), so he stuffed as many as he could in one envelope.  They had weapons training.  They've taken their first academic test.  They have relay races in the pool.  Bob's having to do a lot of push ups for screw ups.  He LOVES being the Recruit Religious Petty Officer!  He looks forward to seeing us at PIR.

Come on girls.  Our division is mighty quiet.  We know we have some hard working fellas in this group.  Plus that, we know they're the best looking, so let's have some more activity on this blog.

I agree Bob's mom--would love to hear from other moms with boys that might be sleeping together (That didn't sound right!).  Like to hear the different perspectives of all the boys in their letters.  Got a letter yesterday.  He said hasn't had much time to write--had a couple of "watches" and was trying to catch up on sleep.  Sounds good!  Looking forward to seeing us @ PIR and heading to Pcola.  Wanted me to send his Navy credit union card----thought he had that with him!!!!  Boys, what are you going to do with them!

I'm So sorry to hear about beccasusans SR. I know they must feel terrible. I understand a little of what they are feeling.T was DQ'd from rescue swimmers in the 2nd week of BC. He was so dissapointed. My son has been having a difficult time but after reading his most recent letters he seems to be cheering up. He told us that his division mates have been helping him through some of the the rough spots. He had worked so hard to qualify for the AIRR contract. He was offered another job out of spec ops and was allowed to stay with his division (810). He is so happy to stay with his division. with his "crew" He said, "I've met a great group of guys. They have helped me through the homesickness and being DQ'd." I am grateful for these young men.

I dont know what job he has. He told us in his first letters that he had taken on the job as a leader.Quite honestly,  i dont know what that means. I do wish he would be more descriptive but oh  well, cant change that now! I would love to hear more from the other moms about their SRs.

@ bobsmom- I agree. They must be the best looking guys.

Chazlyrn61--Sorry to hear about your SR.  I'm sure he bummed out, but I'm so glad he found another job with the DIV.  I always say things happen for a reason--even though we may not understand.  He  obviously was meant to get into this DIV (by getting the AIRR contract), but was really meant for another job there.  I'm glad he is sounding positive!!  Hang in there--We moms worry so much!!!

Yes we do! It comes with the territory! Every time I log into this forum and see that clock ticking down I get excited and impatient. I hope the time flys!

Does anyone know what day this division is on? I'd love to know how they did on Marlinspike.

Not positive, but around 4-4 today (Tuesday).  This is from calculations from my SR letter.  They should be doing pictures, firearms, drill inspection and their 2nd academic test.  Suppose to be "hell week."  Sounds like alot of fun!!

We received another letter today from our son.  It's been like clockwork so far...every Thursday.  He had written about a page everyday last week...March 12-18. He mentioned "hell week."  I think it must be this week.  He asked we pray for him for specific things, such as the firing range, inspections, etc.  He says their day starts at 04:00 everyday except Saturday and Sunday which begins at 06:00.  He says Sundays are his favorite day! Holiday routine. Ha!  He mentioned a "good friend" from Virginia...say he's "really cool" and they talk about football alot. Also, mentioned someone from New Jersey...says he's "hilarious." I won't mention the names. I'm on Facebook. Send me a request and message me there if you want.

So good to read everyone's comments.

I got a letter today! My SR said they did poorly at Marlinspike, he said too many chiefs, not enough Indians. He said they just got done with their Division Flag and it looks Sweet. In my last letter to him I mentioned some names, he said he knew them all and said they're all good men. He said the reason for the 5 minute call is because they are an 800 Division and besides eating they get the short end of the stick. All & all he sounded good. Counting the days to graduation!

Well, that must have been disappointing for them. Grrr... I wish my SR would give us a little more information about what he is doing! :-D We recieved another letter today. He asked for more envelopes with stamps and told us that he did quite well in the firearms training. WendyJ- I hope that Taylor was one of the young men your SR is acquainted with. I was amazed at the change in the tone of the letter we received this week. So positive and excited to see us at PIR. i am hoping that he will be able to get a seat for his GF. She is going with us and we would be so disappointed if she cant get to PIR. We havnt signed up for any of the meet and greets yet. Is that something i should be doing soon?
