My husband arrived at BC on 3/14 and I called his recruiter yesterday to get his address. Found out he is in Ship 09 Div. 145. Is there anyone else who has found out their loved one is in this group? I haven't received the box and form with his PIR date, but I would very much enjoy talking to people on the same time frame as me. It has been lonely and quite sad for me and the kids since he has been gone :0(

Be careful, after sending all my letter over the past 6 days I was told yesterday that the address the recruiter gives you is only temp. There for when they move before your letters get there it takes weeks for them to be sorted then sent to the correct person in the correct address. Unfortunately our best option is to wait on the forms to come in the mail within a few days of getting the box. Which we should get today or tomorrow by the way :0) Im nervous about opening a box to find my husband, but yet still not my husband. :0( I am going to sleep in his shirt from now on though lol.

Kim I hope we get the same date too, so we will know someone :0) Maybe our sailors have become friends!

Jessica -

I am sorry that your letters will be delayed, I know your husband will be glad to finally get them and will be cool if they all show up at once and he has a "mini-book" of sorts!  Very cool in that regard.

I understand completely that you are waiting for his box to arrive to get his clothes; I would sleep in his shirt too if I were in your place :-)

Hope things go smoothly and we get our letters soon!!!!

Hang on - we can do this!

Kim

Hello Everyone!

I am a veteran mom (been through this last year) on here and I mainly stay on the PIR groups to help out...also Boot Camp Moms and any Forums to help guide your to your PIR group. I also help the new PIR groups get started each week.

Those of you that have received this Ship Division info from your recruiter...It could go both ways...LOL. You could be in the 05/04/2012 PIR or the 05/11/2012 PIR.

The PIR group for 05/04/2012 has already been formed but we do not have a conformation yet from RTC as to the exact Divisions in the group. They will post this next week sometime.

Hang in there and wait for the Form letter. If you receive this and find that you are in the 05/11/2012 PIR AND that you would like to create the group...please friend me and let me know. If you would like to friend me now in anticipation of that...please go right ahead...I will just put y'all in line!

Make sure your address is correct...this is how it will look on the Form Letter:( this is the generic form)

SR, Last Name, First Name, Middle initial

Ship ##, Divison ###

Recruit Training Command ####

Something Drive or Avenue

Great Lakes ILL 60088-#### ________________________

SR =Seaman Recruit

In the meantime...Please join Boot Camp Moms...and if you like you may join the 05/04/2012 PIR to get info...if it is not your group...you just leave it and switch to the correct one.

PIR 05/04/2012

Well Ship 09 Div 145 is my husbands right now, but I still havent received anything in the mail. Will check back once I do. I have sent you a friend request though :0)

Hey Jessica! got my letter!!!! we are PIR date 5/11 with ship 11/div 142.  Hope your letter comes today too!!!

Kim

I haven't gotten anything :0( I hope I get something tomorrow or I may just go crazy! haha.I'm so glad you got  yours! It's so muh better to know! I havent even recieved the box

Got my box today, but no letter yet.  Hopefully you get flooded with everything, a letter and a box tomorrow :)

Got our letter today!!  PIR 5/11, ship 11 div 141.

http://www.navyformoms.com/group/pir-05112012  here is the link to your PIR group

Hey husband left the same day I know the address but the recruiter didn't tell me the division I know the ship is #9 but idk if with I got if fine or I need everything! Now I'm scared I send him letters already :(. If you know let me know. I got the box today by FedEx

Hello Joann. I finally got my box FedEx yesterday as well! So happy for that. If your recruiter gave you his address it should have had div number in it. If it doesn't then it isn't his complete address, and will in turn take extra days for them to track down the correct person to give the letters to. Don't worry though, they will eventually get to him, and should only take a couple of extra days. As FTLW has so graciously added for easy access, your address should look like this

SR, Last Name, First Name, Middle initial

Ship ##, Divison ###

Recruit Training Command ####   Something Drive or Avenue

Great Lakes ILL 60088-#### ________________________

I had a scare a few days ago about the recruiter giving me only a temp address and my letters were supposedly going to be weeks late! As I'm sure you could imagine, I was terrified that my SR was not going to have his daily encouraging, and uplifting letters to keep him happy and going. Turns out god was looking out, because the address was his permanent. I wish you the best of luck, and if you have questions, just want to talk, or vent about missing your hubby. Feel free to message me anytime. I will do my very best to help. My prayers, and best wishes are with you.

--- Jessica D.

Thanks !!!

So the RTC are the 4 # before street name right ?
