Anyone have any suggestions on reasonable air fares to GL?  We are flying from Florida, but would like airline suggestions.  I looked at Southwest but they are over $400 a piece!  Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Smile - I can't be of much help since I flew Southwest from CA for my son's PIR back in November - but did you check rates into Milwaukee or only into Chicago?  I flew into Milwaukee and it was slightly cheaper - plus it was a nice airport and only a 45 or so minute drive from the airport to the Navy Lodge and I didn't have to navigate through Chicago traffic.

Hi Smile09, you might try some of the following sites: www.expedia.com, www.priceline.com, www.orbitz.com, www.bookingbuddy.com, www.farecompare.com.  I'm sure there are more, but its a start. Good Luck!

i purchased two roundtrip tickets from Dallas to Chicago for about $500 total from American Airlines.

is anyone attending the april 6th graduation. And what kind of gifts are you giving to your grad

sherman  here is the link to your PIR group...lots of info and support there  http://www.navyformoms.com/group/pir04062012

Check fares at kayak.com, it searches for lowest fares on most airlines and you can set up an alert on airfarewatchdog.com - they'll email you should fares go down on your itinerary. Generally best fares can be found on Tuesdays and Wednesday's (airlines usually run sales). 14 days advance purchase is also recommended. Good luck on your search. God bless!

OK so I found two round trip tickets for $222 each (on Kayak), however we depart from O'Hare instead of Midway to get this rate - can I return a rental car to a different airport? Thanks gain.

OK, forget that. It costs more money to do it that way, so back to the drawing board;)  It's all good, I'll get this figured out!

For rental cars, I generally go to carrentals.com.  They didn't use to ask for credit card information offhand but now they do.  I would reserve with them (check their cancellation policy) and continue searching through hotwire or priceline.  As your date of travel draws closer, if the car rental companies have a lot of supply, they generally lower the price on hotwire and priceline (sometimes $9.95 per day + taxes), then go ahead and book from that (as a caveat though, make sure you are still within the cancellation policy window of carrentals.com), so you don't have 2 reservations because they will charge your credit card even if you don't pick up the car from them.  Good luck and God bless!
