Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Class 1202 (Graduation date- July 20th)
Our sailors will moving on to the 2nd phase of "Nuke" School. Indoc starts on Feb.9th and classes on the 13th. Since we will all be in the "same boat" together, I thought it will be nice to share our experiences. Lets continue to support our sailors and each other!

So just called and made reservations for PS graduation in July. Heard they fill up fast and I have family coming so I needed a 3 bedroom. Well, since its a graduation weekend had to pay in full and its non-refundable! So texed the BOY and told him you better graduate or this momma is out 450.00 and she wont be happy! LOL
Just talked to Colin, seems to be doing really good, got a new roomate today, someone that just graduated A school.

Just spoke with my sailor and he seems extremely stressed. I think going from 5AM to 11PM is really getting to him and he is beginning to question if he can get through this. I have been trying to encourage him that that there is an end to school an d he needs to keep putting one step in front of the other until he gets there.His marks have been fine. so I think he is feeling overwhelmed with all the information they are being hit with. It sounds that some of his other classmates are going through the same thing and I am afraid that this attitude can be catchy. Any advice?

yeah the whole school atmosphere can really suck...they arent really Navy rules they use! Its just messing with them to see how the can cope! Tell him to take advantage of any time he has to himself, get outdoors, excercise, get outta that room!
Make sure he knows just to do his best, but not making it through NUKE school is not the end of his Navy career! If you are an outstanding Sailor and put forth your all they will see that and you can be re-rated......know some that have and are as happy as clams!

@Betsyleebig my sailor boy seems to be having a tough time as well. He had been doing fine until the last few days all of a sudden he's having issues with stress not sleeping and being home sick. It was all of a sudden like turning a switch on. Praying for all our sailors.

I was so relieved to see its not just my son. He has said since A school that this place sucks the life out of you. But he did great and everything was going good until the last couple weeks and he too is questioning why he's doing this. I thought it was because he needs more sleep. I just keep reminding him that in the whole grand scheme of life 2 years isn't that much time. I know when they are young it feels like forever, I too think its being home sick I wish I lived closer. But hopefully if we all pray it will get better.

Happy Easter to everyone and congratulations to th e new bride and groom. On another note just spoke with my sailor. He sounded so much better than the last time we spoke. He was happy he passed the physics final and of course it is the beginning of the weekend.

Wow, beautiful pics! Did you have a professional photographer? It must have been hard to plan an out of state wedding. I can't believe your son stood in the water with his dress blues and shoes on for a photo op, but what a nice pic. Congratulations to all of you!
