OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Been seeing where a lot of moms are posting that their recruits will be staying at Great Lakes after graduation for Pre-Bud training?

I think this is addtional training, not their A school (?) What is Pre-Bud? How long does that last? Who has to go thru Pre-Bud?

Thanks in advance, Learning something new everyday on this site!

Just show up at the Full Moon on Thursday nights or cruise the Navy Lodge parking lot...you'll be able to spot those PIR moms a mile away!
I won't mind missing the snow either but the question is will our sons want to see us so soon...or are we even going to tell them we're in town? hehehe
I haven't heard from my son in three weeks. His birthday was last week, he didn't call and even wish his twin brother happy birthday. My birthday is tomorrow, the double nickels, which probably makes me the oldest of all you moms. If he doesn't call tomorrow, I may be arrested for stalking in Chicago.
Ok I have had enough ........ Lets go " wade a huntin"
we wub u too Molly.

This certainly helped pass another day away...any thoughts on how I can get thru the next 17?!!!!!!!
LOL Mary
Thats true and if we ever get those N4M jackets ((Catherine )) I can just wear my jacket to the base and they will just let me in to PIR.
They have heard of us and are not going to cross us LOL
May be if we send prototypes....Catherine will wave her magic wand and poof.....they will be made!!!
Nah, nah, nah, nah...Catherine PROMISED me the first sweatshirt! Right Catherine?!!!
Or they have heard of us...and they are going to lock the doors!!!

Aren't we supposed to be mothers in mourning?! Little do they know - we can still have fun while they are away!
Mary....are you sitting on the edge of your seat too!!!! Do you think if we left earlier it would come faster!
I can pack quickly Kimberly - how bout you? Wait...has it quit snowing there yet?!
Yes, we need a new forum. Molly and I could start this one. There is so much talk about hotels. What we need is to find out from other MOMS, about the best and worst resturants for talking their new sailor out to eat their first real meal.
