My son leaves for BC April 12th.  Anybody else have a son or daughter leaving at the same time?  With my work schedule, I'm trying to figure the estimated PIR date.  He is my only child and we are very close. Not sure how I'm going to like not physically talking to him and since he is a horrible letter writer, I'm not holding my breath that I'll hear from him oftern. Going to be a big adjustment for this mom.  And he is getting married in 3 weeks.  WOW to 2012 that's for sure.

I'm jealous Sonya.  You are very fortunate to have been at the office today.  My son respectfully asked that I not go to the swearing in, and that I don't go to the airport.  He wants to say goodbye at the recruiters office and stay busy and not think of the goodbyes.  He admitted tonight that for the first time he was getting jittery. (he is leaving tomorrow).

Your time with Hannah is treasured!  Wished I had that opportunity.

Our children may be together.........since they are both leaving tomrorow.

Good luck to you and your family!

I got a phone call today!!!! I was so not expecting it and got it only because he couldn't reach his wife.  He said he wouldn't start week one, day one until the next Monday as they had only been issued their "smurfs'.  They had not been to medical or issued uniforms yet.  Looks like PIR will be June 15th. He sounded great but did say he it wasn't what he expected. I'm a happy mother today!
