Tammy, I think that is fine. I think because of the holiday weekend and all, we should move the shipping date to March 25-27. Sound good?
I will put you down for 2 boxes for the Army unit MaryJo. Thanks so much.
Gosh I have enough stuff for a couple of boxes... which group??
I know what you mean. I have stuff to do more boxes too.
If you want me to decide, to make it easy, lets go with the Army group and get them closer to being done. Just let me know how many boxes.
That is good with me to move the date back I'm new to this packing party so should I keep the plan for 23rd or 24th or do you prefer I wait until after the shipping dates to see what is still needed or does it help to have my count before the shipping dates? Inquiring minds
Tammy
OK new update I talked with the Sunday school class they told me 1 week is enough time the packing party is Saturday April 21st at the church & I will update all of you after that with how many boxes we get. I did have a request that 1 or 2 boxes go to the army (as one of the mom's is an army mom), but other wise we are down for covering as many marines as possible.
Tammy
@chowchow, Don't forget to PM me your address so I can send you that stuff.
Tammy, I think if you are doing individual boxes it is helpful to know our numbers as soon as we can. We like to push to make sure every single one gets an individual box. If you can hold shipping until Wed. thru Fri. next week, then we can all hopefully get them out within the same time frame. I'll be posting the addresses within the next day or two so that we can start addressing things.
Looks like my Moms group is going to send a few(not sure of total yet) BULK boxes, I know I had originally said we would do one individual but looks like that may have changed. We will be having a packing party sometime this week or early next. Will update once I know for sure what all we have.
I think everyone is using large APO/FPO. Exception is if it is cheaper to parcel post large boxes. (There is a calculator on the USPS website to help figure out the cheapest way to ship.)
I use the large flat rate FPO/APO boxes. If what I am sending is light weight or won't fit in the military box, I mail it parcel. It just takes longer for those to get there.
So when you do parcel post is that with your own box that you find at the grocery store or something, or does the PO have those too? My coffee maker isn't going to fit into the large flat rate box that I usually use, especially now that I have a can of coffee to go with it.
