Hey ladies.

I was just wondering if there was any wives who are currently or soon to be stationed with their husbands in San Diego. My husband and I move out there the beginning of June. This is his first duty station and we are really excited, its going to be a change since we are from Tennessee originally. We also have a little girl who will be 3 in July. I was just seeing if anyone could give me a heads up on what to expect, or anyone going through the same move, or just like to get together when we get there?

I'm here!  We just moved to San Diego a month ago and LOVE it.  This is our first duty station as well, and we are originally from Georgia.  :-)  Are you looking to move into Lincoln Military Housing, or rent somewhere in the community?

Yeah we are actually looking into the Lincoln Housing. Is that where you guys are? Was there a wait to get in? I have been on their website and I pulled up what they call a "hot sheet" and saw there was quite a few things available but we are trying to get everything together to submit, but at the moment he is in San Antonio and I am still in Tennessee, so its been kind of difficult but I am going there next week so hopefully we can get everything rolling then. How long are you guys there for? His orders are for 3 years.

Good morning to all. Does anyone know about the group for wives/significant of US Navy Corpsmen in San Diego, CA area? My husband, US Navy Corpsman, just got orders and went there on Friday to San Diego, CA Hospital base. I had never been there, so i would like to connect to other, preferably middle aged, wives from there. I know i'll follow sometime in the future and would like to have some housing/living situation before i get there.  Also, what is a "hot sheet"?  How do you get on it?  I heard that there is a constant noise in the background when living on base???? Thank you for whomever responds, God Bless, in Solidarity, m.

Hey Amberrose! My daughter and son-n-law and granddaughter are headed to SD. we are from Ga. too!!

This is their 2nd station. What part of Ga. are you from? We are in Buford,Ga. I am glad that you like it there. I work with someone that is from SD. Her dad is retired from the Navy. I have always heard great things about SD.

Hi! I live in San Diego with my husband as well :) We moved here in January, he is here for 2 years of training and then we're hoping he'll stay! We love it here too. It's really great. We moved from Florida. Feel free to PM me with any questions!

We are going to be there for 3 years, we are really excited about it. Thanks so much and I will probably be messaging you with lots of questions haha...everything is so new to me.

I'm happy to help :) We don't live in Lincoln Military Housing.. it just wasn't the right option for us. But some people love it. Just be careful where you pick because I have heard some horror stories from my friends out here who live in housing! Also, check out www.ahrn.com it's a really great website and so helpful!

Okay thanks so much!

I am moving to San Diego this summer! :)

My husband leaves to bootcamp in early july and we currently live in SD. My 2yr old son and i will be here all the way up until we get our first duty station :) but we will be here for awhile since after A-School my husband will most likely get deployed for 9 months. If you have any questions about SD i have lived here all my life and would be alot of help!! Good Luck with your move!

Hey all!

I'll be making the trek from Canada in September and will be living in the SD area while the bf is there. Any suggestions for living arrangements? He'll be traveling to/ from the NAB Coronado, so somewhere close to that would be preferred. :)

Any and all suggestions are appreciated, as I'm from WAY out of town :P

Yes my husband will. Hopefully if all goes as planned he will be leaving Chicago for San Diego within the first few weeks of June it will also be his first duty station as well. I am not too familiar with much regarding the area so I wont be of much help with that but I am excited and a bit nervous as well. My sister in law resides down there and is in the navy as well and has been for the past 3 1/2 years and so far she loves it. I am already in California just further north so I'm hoping once the date arrives everything goes well. Maybe upon your pending arrival you can post more info on how everything went for your family and what's to be expected. Thanks and God bless.
