Got another letter from my son, he also has been sick with a cold last week,  he said he went to church service and it was nice, he asked that we send stamps, just to keep them flat in the letter..will send him some, hope they're on the approved list

.and FYI to all... he said a recruit rec'd a musical card and that recruit had to sing the tune for an hour!  He says he is enjoying the experience so far....the good and the bad.

Oh no, not the musical card :( I warned all my relatives about this...and will warn them again :) Glad he's doing fine. I agree with you that they are enjoying the experience and they sooooo want to successfully complete this. Thanks for the good news, MDM4!

not a coprsman, but in the division.  things going ok?

I think so for my son. He waited for 9 months to get in, so he had a lot of time to prepare. He wants to eat "real" food and see a movie when he gets done! :-) how bout yours?

letters have been good, and the last one brought tears to my eyes.  And again now, thinking about it!!

Waiting for the phone call -- hope it will come soon, and that I can hear that things are great.

This site will help.

Got a letter from my son on Wed...saying that the division had been "screwing up" and they were getting  "beat down" almost daily with extra pushups and 8 counts...I guess it gets tougher as it goes on. ....this is probably the toughest things our kids have had to deal with...my son is a college athelete and was is pretty good  physical shape going in, and he says so far he's been able to hold on to his recruit petty officer position for PT but it sounds like everyone is wearing down, mentally and physically,  overall his letter was good, said they were fitted for their dress uniforms...how exciting!

Yes my son said he was excited for the dress uniforms as well. He isn't the type to tell me when he is going through bad stuff until afterward. Always been like that. So all of his letters have been positive. :-) im sure he tells his little brother stuff he wont tell me. They are best friends. It is too bad we only have one day with them after graduation.

MDM4 Mom - What ship div is your son?

ship 03, div 175

Great day for Division 175 - We got a surprise 33 minute call from our son!!!  An early Mother's Day treat...It was wonderful to hear his voice and talk for so long.  Had a really bad connection and he said sounded like everyone else was too. That's okay it was still a wonderful present.  Hope you all enjoyed your calls too - he said the whole Division was down their making calls. Happy Mother's Day to all.....

And yes, they are struggling a little - have some more IT to do - yikes...

Can't wait for PIR!!!

Good to know your call went well.  We heard from our SR (same div) for a Mother's Day call as well.  Such a moment!! and good to know things are going alright.  Much work ahead, yet good attitude.  Mother's Day was more special with the phone call to start the celebration!  Take care, :)

Got a letter from my son yesterday...he has had the cold/flu that is going around, fever of 101 but feeling better with some antibiotics from medical, but has been able to keep up with everything, I missed a call from him Saturday...why didn't he call my cell?  he also  said that corpsmans school has now added another week of training, will be there a total of 15 weeks.
