Our sailors will moving on to the 2nd phase of "Nuke" School. Indoc starts on Feb.9th and classes on the 13th. Since we will all be in the "same boat" together, I thought it will be nice to share our experiences.  Lets continue to support our sailors and each other!

Josh got his lowest score yet on the Heat Transfer. He got  3.66. He said he is still happy with this score. Many struggled on this one. I guess it is the last of the cross training test. Next they will start to get into the heart of MM material. He thinks 2nd half of school is going to get tougher. So far, my son has been very positive and is happy to be in the "Nuke Program".  I hope he continues to thrive. I don't want my son or anyones kid to be stressed or unhappy. Prayers and good luck to all of our kids!!!

thats still a great score Cindy! Colin said alot of the material that they will be taking now will depend alot on memorization.....so hopefully all do well!

Just skyped with Colin...did well on fridays test....class has been behaving so punishment lifted except order quiet! He is back on voluntary hrs....yay! Guess they have a chemistry test this coming week. He and a few guys went camping for the week-end, guess they enjoyed too much beer around the camp fire last nite, he headed home today to airconditioned room...lol....couldnt hang and felt like crap!

Good luck to all our sailors, hope this message finds you all well.

hello all!!

i too hope you all are doing good!!

my son did ok on his test last week.  he is glad that the amount of study hours went down.   he is doing good.

good luck to all the sailors this week on their classes!!

Skyped with Colin, doing good, did great on his Chemistry test, another test tomorrow!  Seems to be holding his grade up. His wife has her final this Tuesday for this second semester in Nursing school, praying she does well! Took her shopping yesterday to pick out bedding and bathroom stuff. Colin is excited about moving out of the barracks and into the apartment, should be the week-end before July 4th!

Hope this finds you all doing well!

hello all!!

good luck to all who are taking exams tomorrow!!

amanda---good luck to your daughter-in-law too!

matthew is doing ok.     he took it easy this weekend.   he didnt really do much.     i think he is doing really well, considering he is also getting things together for his wedding in july.   i am really proud of him.     i am proud of all of them!!!  God Bless them all!!!!

My son texted me and said he did great on the in-rate test. Yayyyy, keep it up! Next is another Chemistry test. Those test keep coming one right after the other. They could use a break. 2 1/2 months to go.

Haven't  heard  from  my  son  all  week.  He  hasn't   answered  emails or  his  phone. Getting  a  bit  worried.  One  mom  who   son  completed this  program and  was  deployed  told  me   sometimes  they  didn't  hear  from  him  for  6  months so  I  guess  I  have  to  get  use to  it.

Colin sent me a message on facebook today...did decent on todays chemistry test! Yay! 2 more weeks and he will be home for a visit :)

Also not sure if I mentioned this but his Wife....who lives with us and going to Nursing school, passed her final Monday...Yay! 2/3 rds of the way to being a Nurse, one more semester to go........then shes his problem!! HAHAHA!

Hope this finds you all well!

hello all!!

my son did ok on the exam they had on thursday.

betsy----you are right!  we are going to have to get use to the silence, but not yet!LOL  i dont hear from my son much either.  his fiance talks, texts, or skypes with him daily.    if i want to know something, i ask her.   guess i have to get use to that!LOL

amanda---congrats on  your daighter-in-law passing her final!!

take care everyone!!

Emailed  son    several  times and  ask  him  to  call  but  nothing.  Not  really  like  him. Anyone from  section 8 mention anything  strange or  odd  about  anyone?  What  I   hate is  not   having one  of  his  friends'  email  address or  telephone number to  call  and  see if  he  is  alive  and  well. Not  sure  whether  the  navy  takes  care of  them  like  a  mother. Hope I  am  just  overreacting.

Betsy I feel your pain., last Dec and Jan I didn't hear from my son at all.  Called, Skyped, Emailed--no return calls. Finally got so bad I left a message that if I didn't hear from him by March I was going to get on a plane and fly there and demand that his SLPO bring him to the gate so I could see he was OK.  I was a wreck!!!!!!  Then suddenly he started calling again and everything was back to normal.  I think maybe at some point they go through a phase where they have to just figure things out on their own and seperate from Mom.  It sucks, it's scary for us but it's probably normal.  My husband was a Marine and went through the same thing.  Funny thing is, now if he goes a couple of weeks without calling I refrain from contacting him and sure enough, pretty soon he calls me "just to talk"   I'm sure your son is fine, just growing up.  In my generation they called it "cutting the apron strings".  If you are patient I'll bet things will go back to normal for you too.  (((((hugz)))))
