Just got the form letter from my daughter saying she is in Ship 11 Div 198 with a PIR of 6/29/12. It was so nice to get her address!

Hi, my son is also in Ship 11 Div 198.  We got our letter on Wednesday.  I am so glad to get his address too.  He must be under a lot of stress because he spelled our last name wrong.  He would never do that.  I am sure he is going thru a lot right now.  We have already sent out a letter.  He is not much of a writer, so it will probably be one sided, but that's ok, I can write enough for both of us.

Glad to hear your son is in the same division as my daughter! We've been sending letters like crazy. I'm hoping to get one in return soon. I hope you get something soon too, even if its a short but sweet note! It's getting closer to PIR every day! Thankfully!

We got a letter this week.  I don't know why, but on Thursday I was thinking about my SR a lot and went home early from work.  There is was, the familiar hand writing. He is doing fine & that letter made me feel so good.  I called my husband the second I opened it.  And I didn't cry very much!!  We have written twice since we got the address and we also sent a page from the paper that had sports scores.  I have read that the SR's llike this.  The letter makes it easier. I look at it everyday and then keep June 29th in mind.  I ope you get a letter soon, it not already!!

FYI there is a facebook page for this division....https://www.facebook.com/groups/386633061388794/members/#!/groups/2...

Thank you! I didn't know, so I'm very happy. Just sent a request.

My daughter is also in Ship 11 Div 198. I received her form letter Wednesday as well. The recruiter gave me the incorrect address last Friday- (It had the correct ship # and div # on it- but the wrong address)- I mailed out 3 letters :/ I hope they forward them to her.  It feels like she has been gone for a year, and it's only been 2 weeks :) It was so good to see her writing on the envelope <3

I agree, it definitely does feel like a year or more, and it has only been two weeks! Sounds like our girls are together! So nice to know! I hope they forward the letters to her too. I'm sure they will.

It is nice to know they are together. I hope they are doing well. Hang in there. We get to go to PIR in 7 weeks :)

Just found this group. My son is in SHIP 11 Division 198 too. I've received two letters so far, plus the form letter and brochure they send out first. So far everything sounds like it's going as expected. I joined the facebook page too. So sad, I didn't see my son in the picture, but glad there's a facebook page for their group.  :)

Anyone's kid going to Pensacola after basic???

Welcome, Jacob's Mom! My daughter is staying in Great Lakes for A School. Nice to meet you!

welcome to the group!!  My daughter is staying in Great Lakes after graduation. However, her boyfriend is in Pensacola for A school right now. He is in IT

Staying in Great Lakes for A school... You are lucky parents! From everything I've read, if they go to a different location for "A" school, they may only get the afternoon and evening after graduation to visit with family. It all depends on their departure day and time. :/

Oh well, Florida is a nice place to visit. lol  Nice to meet you too Raeveness (Ship11Div198PIR6/29) & Tameran (Ship11Div198 PIR 06/29)
