Hello!
katyellen...I have sent you the info to start the PIR 07/06/2012 Group...it is in your inbox and numbered in the order to set it up. Please go ahead and do so! I am in California...so three hours behind you I believe. Just send me a message back once you start the group. Would like to get it up asap...thanks!

Hi Ladies-

I am thinking I will be joining this group...I was also expecting July 13th, but it seems most of  you are getting info for 7/6....I will call my son's recruiter tomorrow and ask.  I was hoping for more information soon, but it looks like I've got to be aggressive.

Hi to all!  Still not so good at figuring all of the "in's and out's" here!

Thanks Jessica B for confirming the date AND all the help on this forum!  I have no clue who my son's recruiter was/is (my son is 23 and tried not to babysit) but he had left his phone at MEPS and I was able to get ahold of the MEPS office who had the Navy office call me and confirmed that he left it there and would get his recruiter to call me to arrange me getting it back.  I saw I could get an address in 72 hours but was gone this weekend anyway and figured I would this week if I did not get the letter before I called again.  Can you suggest my best action?  I too am trying not to be too anxious.

Thanks Katyellen for taking on the PIR and starting this so soon.

Hi twopercentsmom - I was looking this info up for a response to answer your email with the info, and see you found my forum name and this discussion.  SOOO glad it will be 7/6 even if  counted wrong.  Now I have to ask to change my time off request that everyone else will want for that weekend but hopefully not enough off yet to cause an issue because I would have to beg and grovel to ensure I got to get it off.  For his Dad, this date is a lifesaver.  Either way we are both going!

Will be great to meet everyone once there too!

As soon as we get the group up...JessicaB-SailorMom or I will post the links on BC Moms, New Members Stop Here and the DEP Leavin in May Groups! :-)

Those with a 7/6 PIR date the PIR group has been formed. I'll post the link when soon but for now if you want to join...go to my page (click on my blue moon icon) and then over on the left hand side of my page look at my groups.....the 7/6 should be on top. Just click on that....

HI my fiance left on may 8th to boot camp. His recruiter gave me his address and told me he was in ship 2 division 934. I am still waiting on his form letter to come in the mail to confirm his address though but I am more than sure that his graduation date will also be july 6th

My son also left on May 8th. His wife got the form letter today.  The first couple of days were hard. He is 28 and married, but it still hurt when he left. I swear as that van pulled away from MEPS he was suddenly 3 years old again. Wow, I didn't anticipate the impact. Its all good now. I am concentrating my efforts on sending a letter every day. My daughter-in-law said the form letter said PIR on 07/06. Apparently, there is lots of information on the letter. I'll see it this weekend.

here is the link for the 7/6 PIR group...will have div 205 and up and/or 815 934

My son is Ship 3 Div 208 also!  I just got the letter home from him yesterday and my sister received the box of his stuff at her house (not sure why he sent it to her house but at least it got to someone in our family...).

I am so proud of my son but nervous and so unsure of what he is going through.  I hate that I have no way to get in touch with him to find out if he is OK or even just say Hi.  I put my letter in the mail back to him as soon as I got his address yesterday.  Now I will send a letter every day until he tells me to "knock it off mom".  :-)

Good luck to everybody's new sailors!

I received my son's box and form letter both on Monday.  He's SHP 03 DIV 208, can't wait for 07/06.   Never got the "I'm here" call but I figure by the time he got in and through the basic in processing that there wasn't any time since it would have been well after midnight..It sure was hard not knowing..I had a lump in my stomach, a heavy heart and swollen eyes until the "box" and letter..now I KNOW he is where he needs to be and I am one PROUD MOMMA!! GO NAVY and thank you for taking care of my son...I've sent my first of many letters and want to say thanks to everybody who has posted, it's nice to know your not alone, and the suggestions are really helpful.

Hi to all in PIR 7/6/12.

I received my son's box on Mon 5/7 but still not letter.  Did not know his recruiter and now to get his address.  Will just start getting letters together to mail when I do.   I saw someon got their box and letter same day.  Should I be worried I don't have the letter yet?

Thanks!
