For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Aww..You must be so proud and excited for him! My son's name is Josh. (First names are ok) When I got his first letter, he sounded a little shocked, and said, "Just wanted to make this clear, "this is not easy!!!" My husband was in the marines and that was tough. We weren't sure what Navy BC would be like compared to that, so my husband forewarned! But you know how 18 year olds are. They think they are tough and can handle anything! And most likely can. It's just their bodies catching up to what's in their mind! So, I'm glad for the challenge. Do you have any more family in the Navy? Or is your grandson the first?

My oldest son was in the Navy 20 years. He has given (his nephew) my grandson alot of information. But things have changed since he was in. My grandson's name is Michael he is 22. He is doing good a little home sick. They are not use to any of this being that they are from a technology world. The time seems to be going by quicker now is what he says. Since they are doing more training and marching. I my daughter(his Aunt) and I will be glad when we get to hear his voice and actual talk to him. He is very close with his Aunt. So it's been very hard on her family and her. Myself as well. We are from California. Where are you from?

Wow, bet things have changed. But that is wonderful there was a guide for Micheal. I think Josh was a little home sick too. Def not used to waking up so early, but they should be by now. Something that has been wonderful for me to read is a post I saved on my wall. "What They are doing in BC, Day-by-Day from a Sailor" posted by Fire Team Leader Wife. I wish I had that info before, but it gives me a good idea, and a heads up of what I can write to him, with more knowledge of whats happening. (Since I've only received one letter. I did, thankfully, last week receive an un-rushed phone call, which was nice. He had a little cough, and I could tell was still in a little shock...Only because we had watched some videos before he left and they made it look completely different, watered down, from what it actually is. Now, that I've found this sight, we both are learning together, it's a great challenge...I just wished we could've really known, before hand. But it is what it is, He will get over it I'm sure! He is tough! I know! Yes the rigorous PT is so much different, than what's normally out here these days, esp in the video game, tech world we live in. Yes, Josh said the marching was easy for him. Glad to hear that. I really hope you all can hear his voice soon, it will make your day. And will def be praying for your family, Izetta. Oh, We are from FL.

Hi Sharon, yes..I think they all are brother divs, if in the same PIR date. Still so new here and trying to figure it all out too! On research, it says to get to know all from the same PIR GRAD DATE. The group has also formed a FB page discussion too, all from the same PIR can join. Look at the comment link below in the comments! They have great docs and ideas to share with your SR...which i believe they share on N4moms too. We can check in both places! So, how is your SR doing? I've only received 1 letter and two calls. But he is writing others in the family and his friends. So, I can live with that, for now!

In my SR's last letter her spirits sounded much better, think she was glad to have passed her PFA test. That had been stressing her out. Her worst fear is being set back and having to be at BC longer. She was super excited that Chief gave them a pop and cookie with dinner. Said sweets never tasted so good! lol

Yay) Clock is ticking more favorably now, I'm sure "bf" is happy, Sharon! 6 letters, sounds great..I heard from grandpa my SR said it was a "sinch...." in his letter, so, sure would be nice to hear that from him too! Well, I pray let her best dream come true! It's nice to be rewarded, I'm sure the small things won't be taken for granted much anymore.
