Our sailors will moving on to the 2nd phase of "Nuke" School. Indoc starts on Feb.9th and classes on the 13th. Since we will all be in the "same boat" together, I thought it will be nice to share our experiences.  Lets continue to support our sailors and each other!

Josh tends to be very trusting and has had his credit card # stolen before. I told him about this and how others say it happens more than you think especially on ships. He says he either has his wallet on him or locked up at all times. I am glad they solved this case but dissapointed that it was even an issue.

So  sad that  someone  felt  they  could get  away  with  stealing someone  other  things.  And  even  sadder  he  didn't  think  there  would  be  any  consequences. Honest  people   do  exist though.  Son  went  to  a  restaurant  over  the  weekend  and  forgot  his wallet.  He  went  back  several hours later and

got  the  wallet  back  with  all  the  money in  it!!

On  another  note  son   sent  me  a  picture  of  his  toes last  week.  Told  me  he  couldn't  feel  them and  they  were  painful.  They  were  very  red.  Told   him  he  needed  to  have  them  looked  at.  Someone at  the  drug  store  gave  him   some  medicine.  He  went   away  over  the  weekend and  said   his  feet  were  better  since  he  changed  shoes.  Monday he  sent  me  a  new  picture which  he  thought  they  looked  better. They  look awful! Nail  has  different  colors  in  it  and  I  am  worried  he may  loose  his  toes. Looks  like  cellulitis in  both  little  toes. I   showed  it   to  a neighbor  nurse  and  she  said  it  needs  to  be  cultures  as  it  looked  like  an  infection-  staph  or  maybe  mersa. Called  him  again and  seems  he  doesn't  think he  can  get  there  before  Thrusday as  medical  is  only  open  certain  hours. Hope  I  am  over  reacting and  maybe  it   is  just  a  bad  case of  athelete's  foot.

Staph is very serious and nothing to mess with.  Call his SLPO and force him to the Dr.  Please keep us posted, I will keep him in my thoughts.  I had an ex who got it from an infected pimple and nearly died before he got to a Dr.  It can be treated but he HAS to go to the Dr.

besty---i hope he finds out soon what is wrong with his toes.   can he go to a medical center to have them check?    please keep us up to date.   it is times like these when you wish you were with them!!

Son  called to  say  he  would  go  to  the  medical  center  tomorrow  to  have  someone  look  at  his  feet.  Said  the  pictures looked  worse than  reality.  On  a  good  note, he  passed  the  test.

Thank goodness, keep us posted please.

Well another test done, and not to sound like bragging, but he said he got the highest score in his class on this test, so proud of him! he will be on his way home this afternoon....YAY!

nice to hear that colin did great on the exam.  matthew passed, but didnt do as good as he would have liked.   enjoy your weekend!!  tell him we all said hi and are proud of him!!!

its ok to brag!!  it is nice to hear about the good things that are happening with our sailors!!

thanks Tina and Im glad Matthew passed, its better than the alternative!

Its has been a wonderful weekend having Colin home......heading back to GC this morning. Amazed at how much he has grown up mentally and physically every time I see him! He seems very happy and content on where he is in life so far!

glad you had the weekend to spend with him.   it is amazing how much they have grown in every aspect!!   it is good to hear that he is happy!       make sure you give him an extra long hug today!!   it will have to last till july!  that isnt too far away!
