Our sailors will moving on to the 2nd phase of "Nuke" School. Indoc starts on Feb.9th and classes on the 13th. Since we will all be in the "same boat" together, I thought it will be nice to share our experiences.  Lets continue to support our sailors and each other!

well the boy had an interesting evening....had watch all day, but apparently someone in his class lost a credit card and whoever took it used it at the mini NEX.....someone said the description on the video tape looked like Colin, so neddless to say, they searched his room then drove him down to the mini NEX to compare with video........NOT him, surprize, surprize! Damn, like they need this kinda crap while in school. He said it was more of an inconvience than anything.

Hope they find whomever stole and used this card!

And mast him!  No one needs a thief as a shipmate!  So sorry Colin went through that.  He sounds like a pretty centered young man to not be furious at even being suspected.  You should be proud, as I'm sure you are.

thanx Shannon, and yes he is very well rounded....and brutily honest! He has always been very tight with his money and buys only whats needed, has a very hefty savings and checking account, no reason to ever steal from another! He cannot stand a theif or a liar!

Yes I do hope they find whomever did it and hold them accountable for there actions....they will do it again if they did it once!

Haha, Spencer is the same way.  He used to get a $100 gift card from his father for his birthday and hadn't spent it all by the NEXT birthday.  He also has a bunch on $$ in savings, and in his 401K.  20 years old with a 401K   At 20 I wasn't thinking any further ahead than the next test in college, and the next party at the frat house.   Not sure how I got such a frugal kid, but I'm glad I did.  Their later years will be easier than ours because of it.

sooo true Shannon!

hello all!

amanda---sorry to hear about colin being suspected.   im sure your are very proud about the way he handled it.

my son wasnt frugal with "our" money when he was home.   he is now frugal with "his" money now!!LOL      i am glad about it.  i was kinda worried how he would be when he was on his own.   funny how when it is theirs, they get it!!LOL

Update on the stolen credit card: Well they found the guy who took it, unfortunately it was a married guy that lives in housing that a few of the guys from the class routinely go over to his house on fridays to grill steaks and have a few beers, being able to crash at there house and not have to worry about drinking and driving. Seems he helped himself to one of his FRIENDS wallets! neddless to say, his Navy career is over! SAD SAD SAD!

Colin was surprized that it was him that would do this!

thanks for the update.   it is sad that things like this happen.

yes Tina it is sad that this guy threw away his career over something so childish and immature!

My husband (ex-Marine) says brig, court martial, dishonorable discharge is the order of events, that the military doesn't "play" with this kind of stuff.  I feel for his wife and family.  So sad.

Son  said   they   had  NCIS involved.  Too  bad to  throw  everything  away  for   about $130.

Talked to my son today, they were told the young man is in the brig awaiting court martial.  So, so sad..for him and for his family.
