While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Hi Ladies - ya, there are 12 sections to Class 1204. Last week was briefings and today officially started classes. My son wanted to "pre-study" this past weekend but they had locked the rooms. So, he ran the Amazon instead. (I think he's crazy on both counts...but he's MY crazy) Now starts the next phase of their journey/the roller coaster ride!

My son also classed up this week. Not sure of class number. Received a reply to my text that he was in the schoolhouse for 16 hours yesterday and had more homework today than yesterday. Positive thoughts go out to all of them.

our son called us Saturday said they got to see some awesome stuff and he cant wait till prototype school.
Lots of studying coming but at least it is interesting to these kids!

Hi Everyone! My son is in Class 1204-5. I'm looking forward to exchanging info with you all over the next few months. Right now I can mostly just ditto everything you have already said. He reports that they are studying a ton. He was a bit stressed about the first test (lots of definitions I guess), but is less stressed now that they have settled into math and physics. He made some inquiries regarding Christmas leave (I was thinking it might be our last "full family" vacation for a while and was considering planning a trip), but they said their graduation date is so close to Christmas (I'm not sure exactly what date that is - anyone know??) that they won't grant Christmas leave requests until much closer to graduation. So proud of all our loved ones there and how hard they are working!

My son is in 1204-11 and it looks like they will be graduating before Thanksgiving. Power School is 24 weeks according to the Navy website, which puts their graduation in November some time. In A school they had to take leave right away. I am hoping that is not the case for Power School because I, too, would like him to be home for Christmas. We will probably get more information as the time gets closer.

Looks like we will be back in Charleston around Thanksgiving, again. Last year drove his truck to him over Thanksgiving weekend from AZ. We have told him that when we come for Power school grad we are squeezing in some time for a golf vaca at Myrtle Beach.
I know you all can relate - 1 year ago today our sailor left for boot camp. Hard to believe it has been a year! He was not supposed to go until November 2011 but got called on June 22 and told to be ready to leave on the 29th. He had just graduated high school on June 1 - it was a quick turn around and hard for him and us but all in all I believe it has worked out for the best.

My son is in Class 1204-4. As yet, he does not know a specific graduation date, but said he would ask. I'm relatively new to "chat groups", so somehow I've got this discussion thread going, but also started a group for Class 1204. Not sure how they are different, but seem to have conversations going in both place. We have lived in Fresno, CA for the last two years, but spent 13 years before that in the far northwest suburbs of Chicago. Hoping the best for our sailors as they go through PS!

In regards to Christmas leaves and Prototype... My son has indicated that there may not be much time between the two. Apparently, not all the prototypes were up and running and there was some "lag time" between PS graduation and Prototype, but he told me yesterday that all is well again, so there may not be much lag time in between. Hopefully they will get a Christmas break before they start Prototype... :)
