Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

June Adoption - Yellow and Blue Barbecue
June marks the official beginning of summer so let’s have a
YELLOW AND BLUE BARBECUE
Our June adoption is for a “crazy crew” of ABHs aboard the aircraft carrier USS George Washington CVN73.
The ABHs (Aviation Boatswain’s Mate – Handling) are the yellow shirts and blue shirts on the flight deck of an aircraft carrier.
They launch and recover aircraft and work extremely long hours covering day and night flights. Things get pretty hot working around “the birds” and this crew needs a bit of summertime fun to lift their spirits! Bulk boxes filled with the ingredients for a fun summer picnic or barbecue would be great for this group!
Based in Yokosuka, Japan, they are currently on patrol. The ABH crew consisting of 165 males and 22 females.
They are requesting:
Food
beef jerkey, slim jims
energy/protein bars,breakfast bars, Pop Tarts, mini boxes of cereal, granola bars
dried fruit, canned fruit (easy open tops)
canned soup, cup of soup, tuna (in pouch or pop top can)
crackers, rice krispy treats, sunflower seeds, chips, pretzels, bean dip, cheese dip
cookies (any kind would be great) Jolly Ranchers, Smarties, Sweet Tarts, hard candy, gum
seasoning salt, hot sauce
Gatorade type mix for water bottles as well as the water bottles with straps
First Aid / Personal Care
aloe vera burn gel, lip balm, moisturizing/cleansing eye drops, saline nasal spray, throat drops
vaseline blister care, flexible & cloth bandages, surgical masks, bug repellent, pocket tissues
no-water aspirins, vitamins, cotton swabs, nail clippers, eye glass wipes, Avon Skin So Soft
"hoo-ahh" brand unscented pre-moistened field towels, waterless antibacterial soap, sunscreen
strong flashlight & batteries, air freshener, tablet laundry detergent, perfume, cologne
brushes, combs, foot powder, disposable razors, non aerosol shaving cream, deodorant
Fashion
cooling neck bands, good quality sunglasses, bandanas, black boot socks, padded insoles
Fun
deck of cards, DVDs, Nerf balls, and a big YES to pillowcases.
I know that their list is long but these sailors really take a beating up there on the flight deck so let's send them some fun with a
YELLOW AND BLUE BARBECUE

I can't believe it I think the Molly mom's are adopting my son. I can't help it I will be sending several bulk boxes to this one. I will go shopping and have some fun. It is blueberry season here how about those pie in a jar thing I would love to make some of those and send them. My question is do they stay fresh and of coarse with my son there I have to make cookies and send them. Man am I excited thanks for this adoption. I can get several medical stuff a little cheaper at the hospital I work for so I will get that as well. Also he quick crystals are good, but if cost is a problem baby chewables are great as well they just take 4 of them we do that for our heart patients often at the hospital I work at as it works fast. Just a little insite.

My dentist gave me some dental supplies I'll be sending -- toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss, and Biotene for dry mouth. It wasn't on the above list but such items are usually needed. I will for sure do two boxes - one food and one with personal care items.

Chow Chow ----way to stay with the theme too *blue*berrys ----maybe a yellow sticker on the side of the jar and BAM Yellow and Blue (lol lol lol lol )
So exciting that your son is in this group ----- now we have 2 momma's with us ~SHAZAM !!
I have some canned Chunky Soups that I can send
I can see if we still have fabreeze in Florida that can go to them. (stay tuned for that answer)
And we can do some playing cards also !!

That is so funny Molly here in Missouri we have a ride called fire in the whole it fit perfectly. Yes great idea for the yellow sticker consider it done! Or how funny would it be to tie yellow ribbons round the jars I know the women would like it but what about all those boys. That just might be a little fun.

I found additional, "no water" aspirin products at Walgreens. The first one is Goody's brand, cool orange 36 powder packs in a box for $5.99.
The second product I found was, "BC" distributed by GlaxoSmithKline, 50 powder packs in a box for $7.49.
I bought one of each. I never even knew this type of product existed.

My Mom always used BC powders in the 1950-60's. So I knew about powdered aspirin. Thought they had something else in mind. I used to take the BC powders when I had migraines as a teenager before high-powered (and high priced but good) products came out on the market.
