Hi all....I live in the Chicago Area and this weekend it will be 88-90 degrees on the weekend...so it is getting very nice here. My family will not be attending the Meet and Greet since we will be traveling from our hometown which is about 1 1/2 hrs from Great Lakes. We will be getting to the PIR early on Friday morning and since we still do not know if my son will be leaving later Friday or Saturday for A school our plans after the PIR are still up in the air until I hear from my son. He wrote this week and said they took their pictures and and they are still training hard and testing. Hope ALL families, girlfriend and wives are hanging in there we are at the HOME stretch. Lastly my husband and I attended the White Sox Navy Event on June 5th..It was very nice. They sworn in about 85 NEW recruits who were leaving for boot camp that night. It brought back memories of when my son left and time has flown....14 DAYS LEFT Yahooooooo  :)   <3

My SR is good about writing, but terrible on the details. Any little crumb of info I have has come from all of you. Has anyone heard details about flags, pennants, morale, how the DIV is working together? Any info would be greatly appreciated. If I had some I would share,but.......

We must be getting close because I just printed our gate passes!

I just printed mine as well!!!   10 Days!!!!! Counting it down quickly! Is anyone going to any of the meet and greets? If so, which one?

10 days left Yahoo! Got to print the gate pass and.....after Battles Stations are complete we will be getting the "I'm a Sailor " call....so proud, so excited, can't wait   <3  Can't wait to see my Sailor son and all the sailors and their families at PIR

I received a letter today my son said they have earned all their flags and are doing really well as a Div now!!! Letter was dated 6/3 said they had the gas chamber the next day and had received even more shots. He sounds so excited and ready to be a Sailor. We are all so proud of him and all the SRs, can't wait for the big day!!!! I think we may go to Sarges meet and greet from what I have been reading it looks like the best one. Take care all...and see you @ PIR...wooohooo!

Tampamom, that is fabulous news!!!! So glad your SR fills in the details! YAY 187!!!

We were also thinking Sarge's. We will probably be later. I don't think my mom's flight gets in till 5. We might just go there straight from the airport :-)      SOOOOO excited :-D

I have another SAILOR..... second in 8 months... So proud of my two Son's for wanting to SERVE!

Hi all....Got the "I'm a sailor" call. Wow what a rollercoaster ride this has been!!  I am so proud of my son and his accomplishments as well as all of his shipmates.  I'd also like to thank all of you Navy Moms/Wives/Girlfriends for helping me keep my spirits up these last few weeks. I hope we can stay in touch somehow as our SR's split up and go their separate ways.  Good luck to all of you and I hope to meet you at Sarge's.

Received my "I'm a Sailor" call today....how exciting, my son sounds so great and so happy. I know where he is going to be stationed and when he will get to come home. This has been n amazing day, all the ladies in my office were jumping up and down screaming and hugging me what a great feeling. We got to talk for a nice long time while he was eating his candy and sipping on a YooHoo!!!! Pizza party for the guys tonight..Just so happy to get to see him in a week I told him get ready cause I was gonna be hugging and kissing him and he needs to deal with it. He told it was fine he looks forward to it.....We should all be so proud and we are blessed to have such amazing children. Take care all.....

Yay 187! I got the I'm a Sailor call yesterday as well!!! So excited! He sounded tired but happy. Sounds like the entire DIV 187 passed?  Tampamom, you made me laugh-hugging and kissing and he was going to have to deal with it! I wasn't sure about what day it would happen, and I got a sub to cover my afternoon classes. So I have the afternoon off ;-) I am breathing a bit easier now. I even went swimming at the gym last night for the first time in 6 weeks-I didn't want to miss a call while I was in the water before<g>Enjoy everyone!

Captain's Cup today..go 187...bring home the WIN......Best of luck to our Sailors and have fun!!!!
