ok, so my son left only last Wednesday and it has been hard! I got the 20 second "I'm here" phone call that night around 9:30. I didn't have time to say anything to him except ok and I love you. This 9 weeks is going to be hard! How long before we get information from him so I can start writing to him? I miss seeing him everyday! Out of habit I keep checking my cellphone because he would always text me throughout the day and now....nothing! I hope he is doing okay there. I miss him!

My boyfriend left June 6th also. His mom got the 'I'm here" call early Thursday morning. Their flight was delayed 3 times from Albany. He called me about 10:45pm Wednesday and said that they had landed and it would probably be the last time we got to talk for a while. He sounded alright and was just anxious to get going. I've already started to write to him. No address yet but I think I am going to call the recruiter and find out if he has heard anything. I do the same thing as you, I check my cellphone constantly and have even gone to text him about puppies that I saw in the paper and then realized he wouldn't get it or respond. I hope you are hanging in there!
I got my call around 9:30 pm (Pacific) last Wednesday as well. Maybe our boys are together!
That would be nice! I'm still waiting to get "the box" in the mail though.
Me too. We are very rural so mail always takes forever. I'm so curious to know what he really thinks of it now that it is real!
I got the box today! Now just waiting for his information with his address so I can send him the letters.
Me too! We are definitely on the same path. Maybe we'll meet in Chicago in August!
That would be nice! Now I'm just waiting for the letter with his information. Wouldn't it be great if they were in the same division? LOL
My brother left on June 4th and we got the box we are also still waiting on his address and graduation date
My son left on 6/4 for RTC. We received our Form Letter today. PIR is Aug 3rd. My son is Ship 11 Div 231. I am soooooo relieved :) He managed to scribble a few lines on the back...I'm happy to share with you while you're waiting :)
"It's only been 3 days but it feels like weeks. Didn't sleep for 40 hours from when I woke up Tuesday! Yeah, this is pretty crazy here but as long as you don't look the Chief in the eyes you won't get yelled at. Gotta go. Love you!! :)"
Yes, he drew the smiley face...LOL Hang in there! I hope you get your Form Letter very soon!
