Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

What to expect???
Hi,
I'm Laura. 47, I have 4 boys, and my second can't find what he really wants to do after 2 yrs at community college, so he joined the Navy! I am so incredibly proud, but so incredibly sad at the moment. I feel selfish knowing how much life will change and how much I'll miss him. I'm trying not to let him see these feelings too much, because I want to be encouraging to him. He is 20 and is such a hard worker (usually does 3 jobs while going to school) and a great kid. He goes to bootcamp on Tuesday.
Any feedback? Will I survive? lol I hope to make some good connections on here. Thanks for reading!

Laura, if you start with the N4M's Survey Guide, you'll get a pretty good picture of what your son will be going thru. Have your son join the NAVYDEP.com site (a site just for deppers - that's the delayed entry program he is in right now). Watch all the videos. It's important that you realize the Recruit Training Command site is the OFFICIAL site. Print RTC's Family Guide (all the links are in the N4M's Survival Guide. Join the Boot Camp Moms group.
Navy For Moms's Survival Guide for Navy For Moms Newbie (clickable link). You'll find everything you need to get started. Videos, PDF files of boot camp processing days, links to all the important groups plus tips on how to use this site. Keep in mind the videos and PDF files may take some time to download the first time you try it. It'll look like nothing is happening. Be patient.
Best part is it'll be here on your very own page as a reference. Click the MY PAGE tab on above menubar to access your page anytime - you should do it at least once a day to see if you have any postings on your comment wall (like this one).

Laura my daughter leaves on Tuesday as well. I know how you feel. My daughter is my only child and we are very close. Not knowing she will not be home every day makese sad but I am so proud of her for her choice she has made to serve our wonderful country. I have been having a hard week but I'm trying not to show her. Its makes me feel a bit better she will be taken care of in basic and will be so busy it will go fast. Hang in there

Aww, Tanja. I said almost the same exact words. the knowing they won't be home every day is sad but at the same time your are soooo very proud. you hang in there too.
