Welcome Ethansmom, which is funny, I am an Ethan's mom also.  My son has been at bc since Monday.  You will find a ton of great information on here and a lot of great people.

Great name..although Ethan is my sons middle name..Ive used it he was 20 wks old and got ultrasound he was boy!..His dad wanted a junior so we compromised and gave him first name of dad but never use it..i told son he better keep ears open in case someone calls him by his real name since he doesnt use it ..but he informed me they use last names and he can tell friends he goes by Ethan..so we'll see .

anyway..the fact you can type and your sons already gone is a testament to help me..as i feel whole world collapse when he leaves...sure atad dramatic but i feel like that at this point!...so functioning on here will definitely come in handy.:)

Hi ethansmom,
My son leaves on June 28th from IN. I'm sad as well but trying to stay positive for my son. We have a few more weeks with them. Let's try to enjoy every minute!!

Amy

Hi Dakota's Mom,

My son left on June 28th from TX. I took it pretty hard, especially when I didn't get "the phone call" But all we can do now is wait for the "kid in the box" and the form letter. How are you holding up?

Im doing well. Still crying every few hours but I'm sure that will get better with time. How are you doing? I will send you a friend request so we can message.

Thank you both OhWendy and Dakotasmom for the words of encouragement.I do look forward to reading and see myself up late at night on this board a lot in near future.Staying positive during this seems a chore but since Im a mom I do chores well so i  guess I will add this to list!

Hi !

My son, Kyle , is leaving for boot camp on June 26th from Ct. He said he is ready and is looking forward to start Navy Career. I will be crying alot so I decided to say good bye to him from my house and will stay home crying alot because my son said he needs time to get ready from himself after he left my house on 25th. My husband will drop him off at recriter's office at 100 pm on June 25th.

Hello deaf65--nice to find someone else who is dealing with same emotions. I am quite sad as he is my baby and house having no more kids in it after 20+ years will be weird also.
I primarily use my iPhone for Internet which makes it harder for me to type and see all on this site. I imagine as soon as he leaves I will be on here more and use my big computer for easier visibility and typing. I don't type well or fast ! ..anyway that gets my disclaimer out of way ! ..

I am a very emotional person and this Navy biz has made me moreso!
Look forward to chatting with you :)

My son leaves out of Pitts on the 28th

Hello Annette , that time is coming up soon also..So our sons will be going through everything at same time too! Please let me know by posting on here what goes on with him and I will post too because it looks like from what I've read we will be doing a lot of waiting and see . ..so ANY news we hear will be welcome and cherished :)

I agree and I will do so..Im not ready for this at all. We have one child and my house is going to be quite different here thats for sure. We have already been thru this once, as he was prepared to leave on the 7th..arrived in pitts on the 6th check in to hotel..we spent all evening eating and chatting and being a bundle of nerves..he arrived at MEPS and prior to us arriving for the swearing in he was advised his ship date had been changed but no one had notified us..what an emotional rollercoaster that was.

wow..sorry about your extra rollercoaster episode..yes i feel im on that rollercoaster too..diff times of day i realize how close it is and what it means that he will be gone and i break out crying .and he hasnt left yet...like i said on here before..hes been living here his whole 20yrs ..seeing him everyday..so this will be empty house too..and obviously i have to make it through but i havent figured out yet exactly how to do that 100%...

im sure reading on here and the FB navy mom groups I belong to..that and time will help.and thats about as positive i can get right now.sorry.
