my son is flying in the air to Great Lakes as we speak!!!!!

Carrie

I believe they must combine the recruits from a couple days, otherwise they would have a mess on their hands..

My son made it to Great Lakes a little after midnight on the 13th.  I would like to know what is going on myself.  I just recieved his box today.

You have already received his box??? WOW!!! Ive not heard a word!!! I have been looking and hoping to get something! if you get any graduation info, please let us know!!!

My son shipped out of Portland OR 6/12/12, so he is probably with your son.

Yes my son shipped out of New Orleans, La. on 6/12/12.  They are probably together. How are you handling this?

I am doing alright. If I don't think to hard on it. The hardest was Thursday, it was his birthday and I couldn't call and say happy birthday.

The hardest part is not having the contact. I would handle it better if I could just call and see how he's doing. I know they want to break that tie to make training and deployment easier but its still so hard.

How are you handling it?

By the way my name is Heather.

HI guys, my name is Carrie, my son flew to Great Lakes on the 14th, they might all be together.  We are holding it together here.  We have 5 younger children then my recruit, so they keep us busy.  My recruit is a Navy Brat, born on a base in Japan 18 years ago, we have talked about boot camp for the last 6 years, but my hubby and I are still having some "he's gone" moments-even though we have been prepared for this for a long time.  We were just cleaning up taco's and my hubby said, i guess i can leave some of this out for Alex--then he caught himself, I said no he probably won't be home soon......sad!!!  But we are excited for him!!!    Can't wait for the form letter so we can send letters and plan for graduation!!!!

Heather, my name is Regina.

I don't think I could of handled it if it was his birthday.  I am having a hard time of it.  And the contact is the thing that is the worst.  It would be so much better if I could pick up the phone and see how he is.  Guess it is best for him.  Can't wait till I get his address..  By the way, there is a website that gives away free phone cards for recruits. It is cardsfor recruits.org.  I got some for my son last night.

My name is Keri and my son left for boot camp May 20th and his 21st birthday was May 30th.  It was hard not to be able to call him and wish him a happy birthday but i know I will see him on July 20th for graduation and I cant wait

I am truly going nuts wanting to hear from my son! I miss him terribly, however, I, like you, just wish I could hear from him and know he is ok!!! I am hearing that some moms have already received their child's boxes!!!!

Im glad we all have eachother though!!!!!

I know the feeling. I am going nuts too. My son shipped out on June 12th. and I got his box on Saturday.  . Now just waiting on the form letter with his address and such.  Going crazy waiting.
