Hey everyone!

This is my first time posting and I've been looking through the site. It's a nice site to have! It's helped a lot! My boyfriend is in boot camp right now he just left June 12 and he is on ship 07 div 244, so if any gf's or wives out there that have someone on his ship I'd love to talk to you! Also I am still unsure of his PIR date I am thinking it is Aug 10. but i have not received any letters yet. I've been sending one everyday tho! If anyone has any suggestions about how to keep busy or any insight on what to expect for my future I would love to hear it! Also after BC he will be going to South Carolina for training for nuke.. he said it's going to take 2 years...ugh. if anyone knows more information about that as well I would greatly appreciate it! Thank you!

Mine finished boot camp 6/1, and he's in SC for Nuke A School now :)

Let's see...bootcamp wise, DON'T expect any calls. If you don't expect them and get surprised with one or two, it'll make you  less disappointed when you don't get them, and all the more excited when you do :) With my boyfriend, he loved getting letters, so keep sending them! Talk about basically whatever the hell you want. They just like reading it. He also loved that I sprayed some of my perfume in some, so you could probably do that. And pictures! Funny internet stuff. I can't help much with PIR...didn't get to go. But I hear it's a great weekend for everyone, so I'm sure you'll be excited for that! :)

As for A School, if you've got questions, I can ask my bf for ya!

Hello,

My boyfriend is on ship 07 div 244 and he's MA probably going to San Antonio, TX after Great Lakes, IL . And too have been writing him every single day, but time just isn't going by fast enough. And I agree if anyone has any suggestions to keep busy and what not let me know.

I'm glad I found a group:)

Thanks ladies! I appreciate all the advice! His mom just got the formal letter today stating his PIR date! Aug 10! I am soo excited!! would anyone know when the personal letters start coming? I just can't wait for a letter! I am hoping next week, which would be his 3rd week i believe.

@kling I don't have any questions yet about A school...probably soon I will tho! Well is he able to talk to you every day?

@karmennicole that's awesome that they are together! Where are you from?

I got mine the 4th week he was there, but it can really depend on how well his division's doing. Some of the moms from his PIR group got letters the 3rd week, so yeah..

As for talking to him every day....TECHNICALLY, he's able to if he manages his time really well. They're kept relatively busy with school, PT, mandatory study time and then duty and inspections on top of that, so it all depends on how much time he has in between all of that. The first 2 weeks he was there and was in-doc, he had a TON of time to talk, so we got to talk for a few hours every night. Now that he's started school though, we're trying to figure out a new routine 'cause he's suuper busy.

ooh alright. Ugh 4 weeks for a letter. they are super strict. I hope his division is doing okay because i want a letter next week! haha! But i can't get my hopes up.

My boyfriend said as time goes on they will get more freedom just the first month they a strict... I don't know how true that is, but at least you are able to talk to him now! and not wait around for letter! lol!

I seriously sleep with my phone volume all the way up and never let it out of my site in case he calls, as well as checking the mail every day...I can't wait to get a letter from him.

Definitely do NOT get your hopes up. I was sooo frustrated the 3rd week he was there and all these moms on the PIR group were talking about getting letters, and I checked my mailbox like 3 times each day that week hahaha >_/p>

He's right though - towards the end, maybe after week 6, they'll get to send letters multiple times a week as opposed to just Sundays, but again, it all depends on how well his division's doing. Maybe you'll get a few phone calls too! :)

To be honest? It's funny, but I miss those letters! He was soooo sweet in every single one of them lol! You can tell they miss you just as much as you miss them from those letters sometimes xD

I am from Ventura California... its north of LA. Where are you from?

Its cool that your Boyfriend is a nuke by the way. My boyfriend tested into nuke, but decided to be an MA instead.

lol I make sure my phone is by my side 24/7 and on my hip when I'm at work, but i know he won't call for awhile and that's still a maybe! I check the mail every single day too! and I am from Sacramento, Ca so at least we are in the same state! haha!

Oh cool, I can't say I've ever been to Sacramento, how is it?  Off topic, but are you going to the graduation?

Sac is okay. nothing like LA. lol! and I am going to graduation! Are you?

haha:P And yes I am!! Do you know if they only get time off the day off or more? I can't seem to find an answer to that
