For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

P-days & Bootcamp days?
Does anyone know what the schedule for Saturdays and Sundays regarding P-days and Bootcamp days? For example, if they started their 1st P-day on the night they get to GL on a Tuesday, do they continue right through the weekend? I am one of those mom's, who look at the daily schedule to see what they are doing on each day. :-) thank you in advance

Weekends and holidays do not count toward days. They are still busy, though.
Also, the number of P-Days varies. Of course, so does their schedule. But I know what you mean about wanting to follow along. I did that, too, when my son was in boot camp.
The best thing to do is ask your SR, when you can, to tell you what training day he/she is on. After that, you can keep track easily.

I sent my SR a 3x5 index card.
I printed a space labelled Today's Date and then a space labelled Training Day.
I explained in my letter that I wanted him to fill it out and mail it with his next letter.

I did not know we could follow along and see what day they're doing what..... please tell me how I can this also.. 1 more question.... what happens when they get held back, and you have already purchased airline tickets? My son is only a couple days into bootcamp so this has not happened I'm just a curious....

We are only 3 hours away from Great Lakes, so we'll be driving but I still have to make reservations for lodging

If you suddenly find your SR is not going to PIR on the day you thought he was, you'll have to change your reservations. For us, hotels and rental cars were easy to change. Airfare can be an issue. Southwest Airlines offers no-fee rescheduling, so we got tickets on Southwest. Check with your airline.
