My son left 6\20 and I called his recruiter and got this address for him. I haven't received anything from my son, but have read on the site that this might be incorrect from the recruiter? I want to send the letters that I've written so he'll be able to get them as soon as possible. Can anyone tell me if this really does change or should I go ahead and send the letters? Anyone else have a son on the same ship? Worst 5 days of my life. Glad this site is here!

Double-check the address against those at http://bootcamp.navy.mil/contact_recruit.asp since recruiters sometimes give a generic address for the RTC and if the street address is incorrect, it could delay mail. Since you have a ship number and a 3-digit division number, it is most likely correct.
thanks - I took a chance and had faith that it was correct... hopefully will get the letters I already sent this afternoon to that address.. thanks again
My son also left on 6/20, but I still have not heard anything. I am so anxious to hear from him. I hope the address you got works and he gets your letters. I didnt realize how hard this was going to be emotionally, I miss him like crazy
I totally agree. Nothing could have prepared me for this. Hugs to you and I hope you get some info soon! Lea Anne
Yes, just found out my son is on Ship 7 Div 259. We are from New Castle Pa. North of Pittsburgh.
So glad to find company for Brandon! Tomorrow will be a week since he's been gone and that I've talked to him and it will be 2 more weeks until I might get a call. Ugh - this is so tough. We are from Merritt Island, Florida. We will meet in Illinois in August? Looking forward to that day! Prayers to you and your son!
Thanks Am0m - I guess the "kids" are close to each other - I looked at the map on this website. Prayers to you and your daughter as well!
did you get yr box and letter yet?? I haven't ... been a ridiculous long week. how r you?
Hello!
I will be looking for the mom/wife/GF etc. who will be interested in creating the next PIR group.
This will be TG 40-- PIR 08/17/2012. It will start with Division 249 and have a Performing Division of 940.
Folks, anyone with a Recruit in Division 249 and up or 940 who is interested in creating this PIR group...please friend me and I will help you get it started! Easy and fun...I have step-by-step instructions!
BC can be anywhere from 7.5 to 9 weeks. It is also possible for recruits to arrive in the same week…or on the same day…but have different PIR dates. Your recruiter may have your recruit’s ship/division as early as 72 hours after arriving at BC. I will take this ship/div # for the purpose of starting a PIR group BUT please wait for the form letter that your recruit will send home to address your mail and send it. The address your recruiter gets oftentimes is incomplete or has too much information that is not necessary for the address.
Thank You!
I would be very interested! This site has been such a comfort! So much info. Thanks - can you send me the information? The more I can do and be involved in, the better I will feel. Makes me feel like I'm a little closer to him what he's doing. Thanks again! Lea Anne
Lea Anne - Wonderful! I sent you a Friend Request. You'll need to accept that first and then we can get started!
To accept my friend request go over to the very far right column at the top underneath your Username in the blue bar and you will see this:
Next to "Friends" it will say (1 request). Click it. Then accept it!
