Wow, just found this website and am glad to have found others going thru same emotions I just went thru. Took son, Chas, to recruiters yesterday and left from Pittsburgh, Pa this afternoon for Great Lakes, Ill. I was okay after dropping him off at recruiters and was surprised I could go up and have dinner with him. I thought I wouldn't see him anymore. So I was excited to see him last night. Then he called me this morning to let me know that I could come up to meps to see him swear in and later go to the airport to see him off, but I was already at work and couldn't get away! I felt so bad, that all I did was cry. Boss finally told me to go home! Feeling much better reading some other posts.
Hi Are you okay? I heard that my son is in boot camp and he called my mom last night to tell me he loves me and he is fine. We are expecting "kid in box" in few days . I will preparing for this and probably get another emotional feelings. I am good now and keep busy at work and will paint the office room to keep me busy .
I send you private email I am doing good. Yup We are proud our sons! We did our good job to raise our sons and it is time for our sons spread their own wings but they know if they need our advices or support then they kknow how to reach us. I expect it will be PIR(pass in review) will be in August 17 or August 24.
Hi ethansmom,
my son left yesterday from Hawaii and I am waiting for our phone call now. Having been an Army wife and daughter, I still can't get used to this...but it's going to be o.k.!
I was having a hard time yesterday. Just mopey, a few tears. I think it was definitely the ups and downs of waiting for several of his calls. After the "I am here call" this sense of security came over me. I woke this morning to sunshine and a smile. I think knowing he arrived safe and sound, is being well taken care of and following his dream, makes me heart smile. Well at least until I get the box, then I am sure it will start all over again. lol. Our boys will be great, do great and we will pull thru all of it together! Hang in there. I know that having a few other issues to deal with is that much tougher to deal with. Hang in there, big hugs and know that I am thinking of you!
Hi spudsmom,
My son just left yesterday and I cannot get used to it. My husband is one of those "strong and silent" types and I sooo am not! LOL I have been driving myself nuts today because I have not received that "last call" but as one member on here has told me... No news is good news, if anything bad had happened I would have been notified... but still you know how your mind can go into hyper mode and come up with 10,000 scenarios and you are seriously considering jumping on a plane to go check on your baby..... yeah, that was me... total basketcase. *deep sigh* As for when you will get more info.... I believe I have read somewhere on this site that you will get a form letter telling you his Division number and Ship mailing info sometime soon. Stay positive!
