@butterblink. My son shipped on July 10th. We are from the Chicago area. I also did not think it would be this hard. I have an older son that went away to college and I thought it would have similar feeling, but it is totally different. I guess we just have to take it one day at a time and keep ourselves busy. It is probably much worse for us rather than our kids.
Hello Fellow 7/10 shippers!
I couldn't sleep last night. Woke up at 2:30 am hoping and praying that my son was getting some sleep. I found myself doing a lot of praying last night for my recruit; some rest/sleep, a sane mind, and a healthy body! I know that no news is good news but I am anxiously awaiting the box and form letter. Looking forward to forming our division and chatting up a storm with you guys! Anyone else had a sleepless night last night? Keep in touch until we get our PIR discussion board up! I know FTLW is working on it! Have a happy day!
About 35 left from NJ on the 10th, then my son and 2 girls left on the 11th which I thought was wierd. But its been soooo hard!!! His last call I had on speaker so not sure if he was upset or call getting broke up? But said he wont call for 3 weeks? Cant wait to be able to write at least!!!!!

I am so excited to hear that your received your box today! My son shipped out on the 10th as well. I'm not home today, but will have a neighbor check for me. Did you happen to receive a note in your box? Things are really rolling now!
Just got my box today. That was very hard. No note. So now on to waiting for PIR letter. Missing my son terribly. Have same sleepless nights as qmastermom has been having. Worrying and wondering if all is okay with my kid. If he is having a hard time or not. Getting any sleep, eating or is he still a bundle of nerves. This sucks not being able to talk to him. Soon enough I guess when the letter can start pouring out. Will be good to get PIR group together so we can chat.
Mine went out on the 10th too, but no box here today, ( and we don't live that far away)...Tomorrow maybe...She took very little with her, ( could probably wad it up and stuff into a large envelope)...Her recruiter had told me to call them this afternoon and they most likely have an address for her, but they're not answering...Grrrrrrrrrr.
Hi 1stchild,
SO glad you got your box. HOpe to get mine soon. I am not expecting a note, although my son is a talented writer, but I think he was just too nervous. During the day I am fine, but at night I worry, worry, worry and pray a lot! I'm in the deep south, so my box may not come as quickly as you guys!
You will get your box soon. I am in California at least on the map you are closer. Waiting for PIR is going to be stressful. Want to write to my son real bad, but holding off until this weekend to start writing.
HI Shannon T - Welcome to our little group! I am hanging here until I receive the PIR date, then we can start our own division discussion. I think we all feel the same way here. I am so glad he made it there, but am worried about how he is coping. I'm so glad you got your box. Next up, form letter with PIR date and division. Hang in there and keep in touch! BTW - my son shipped on 7/10 out of New Orleans. Where are you guys from?
