Kazzam,

There is a group called "Deppers leaving for bootcamp in August"  They will help prep you and you will meet up with moms on the same timeline!  Welcome aboard, new navy mom. :)

Hi!  my son is leaving august 2nd as well.  And I will follow he instructions below, but I thought I would reach out to you here as well.  I hope you are dealing with this better then I am!  Feel free to ping me and we can chat.

Awesome, we'll have to keep in touch and see if they maybe get put into the same division.

kazzam, Somehow I just now ran across this discussion! My son left for GL August 2nd as well. I haven't received "the box" or a form letter yet. Some are starting to get the boxes today, I think. I did, however, get to talk for just a moment with my son when medical called to ask about his allergy to penicillin. That was a very nice surprise and really made my day! I hope you are doing well. It's been a tough week for me so far. I hope I adjust soon.

My son also left on the 2nd.  I got the box today.  No note or form letter.  I would like to know when PIR is and be able to send my son letters.  Well, at least I have his dirty clothes.  Who would have thought I'd be happy to have his dirty clothes.

I received my box today as well.  The tears began flowing all over again.  I searched every pocket and inch of that box looking for note or something to say that he was ok, but I did not find anything.   Excited to receive that first letter

Hi. My son left on August 2 also. Got the box of belongings today. No letter!
