Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

"The Box" was one of the hardest for me and mine re-ups this year...but I DO remember getting that box and know what you are going through! It does get easier my son is on his second deployment and really likes his job and the travel! Any time you need a shoulder to lean on this is the best place "Navy for Mom's"!! We all can relate to each other and what we all are going through :)

I am out in Dripping Springs. My son has almost completed year three. The box is hard to get, you don't know how they are, what those first days have been like. Lots of moms on here completely understand. I will tell you that he's probably just fine and adapting well. He'll contact you when you least expect it. Keep your cell phone on and the volume loud. Usually, that call comes as a reward in the evening when the sailors don't even expect it. My son has been out on a sub since Mother's Day, they never surface, don't know where he is and have received one email. What I do know is: he is safe, working hard, and looking forward to being back in Washington sometime this fall. If you have any questions, I'll try to answer. There are so many great moms on here. Just know it'll all be ok and you're not alone :)

Great to see your post here. My son Left for GL on 31st July. He too will report at some point in time to a sub. Just getting through BC right now. I m patiently waiting for the first real letter and 2nd phone call. I love this site. So much information and great people to chat with. Oh, I live in south Austin.

I'm just a little farther north than you. I'm in Florence. I would be more than happy to meet you somewhere so that you can sit down and talk or cry which ever you perfer. My son just completed his two years training for Nuclear MM in May and is now on a sub out of Groton.
