Got a phone call yesterday and 2 letters he is doing well and getting use to it, he is sick though.. He said a lot of boys is sick in their sec. S-9div 267, wisdom teeth procedure done last Monday had a 3 day off for that , he is in the first shift watch. He said its weird that he is now picking up after himself and got a perfect 5.0 on his inspection, food is good andveating like a cow lol , PT and marching is breeze to him but helping others to improve performance, it's all about team effort, he is still a sec leader not sure how long he can hold on to it. He thinks all his guys are cool. He said write everyday it doesn't matter what is all about news clipping, funny pics, jokes, anything ...he said. It feels good when they hear their name on mail call every night and it's sad whenever they dont get any :( they got their white jumper uniform yesterday(Popeye).
I got a phone call as well last night. However, there was so much static that I could barely hear him. Anyone else have that problem? We talked for about 15 minutes. Dakota is doing well.

I was so excited when my phone rang on Thursday evening and seen "Waukegan, IL" on the caller ID!! Unfortunately, I answered it and heard a very shaky (crying voice) say "Hi mom" and then we got disconnected. :(   I tried to call the number back but the line is restricted to outgoing calls only. Josh is a very emotional person and I know that he is super homesick. But... he did call his girlfriend after we were disconnected and she told me that he sounded really good and in good spirits so that helped to make me feel a bit better. One month from today and I will be driving up to see him!!! We are half way there ladies!!!

How many with SR's in 268 have or have not received calls? I'm seeing posts of phone calls on Thursday, but I haven't heard from mine :( my cell phone doesn't leave my sight! I checked all my missed calls on cell and home phone and there is nothing that looks like it would be my son. It is possible he could have called his dad, but some of the calls were 15 min or SR's made more than one call so he should have been able to call us both. If he did call his dad, I wouldn't know because a message would never be relayed to me. Just curious if so many get calls per day and maybe he hasn't gotten to make his call yet. His last letter told me to stay by the phone because they would get to call soon. Still waiting :(

Quick question for those attending PIR 8/24. Is anyone staying at The Ramada, and is anyone attending the "meet and greet?" Would like to meet some moms from 09 DIV 267.

Hello Deirdre.  My name is Annette.  We are staying at the Ramada for the 8/24 PIR.  My son, Chad, is in div 267.  I have read some bad reviews about the motel and was thinking about changing my reservation.  I am glad to know someone else that will be staying there.  We are arriving Thursday evening and are planning on attending the "meet and greet."  I am glad we got to talk on here before the actual day.  I have not received any calls and Chad even wrote in a letter that he did not get to make a call because everyone else took too long.  I am so sad and I am hoping he gets another chance.

Hi Annette

Just saw your response. We just read a report from Josh's mom on The Ramada and it was not very encouraging. We therefore switched hotels to the Marriott ~ you may want to consider. I just didn't feel very comfortable with all the negative responses and since I trust these women implicitly since our children are all in the "same boat" so to speak, I decided to jump ship to another hotel. Let me know if you change your plans and possibly we could round up a few on line friends to all attend the same "meet and greet?"

Hope it all works out!!! :)

I just got a letter from my son! So excited and anxious. Apparently there have been major issues with Div 268. He has been moved into the PASS program and will be taken out of this division. It is all for the best though. He will be graduating in September with his new division. It has been a pleasure getting to know each one of you! Good luck to you and your SRs!

Good luck Geraley! We wish you and your SR the Best!!!!

My name is Annette.  My son Chad is in div 267.  I have not received any calls since the last one that he had arrived.  I have received 3 letters and have been writing him back 3 letters a week.  It would be so good to hear his voice and was counting down the days until I received a call.  He said he was promoted to E-2, so I thought maybe that would earn him some phone time.  I guess not.  I was very surprised to hear about the fighting in the division.  Chad has never mentioned it, but he did say they needed to improve on keeping thier mouths shut.  I hope they have all calmed down and adjusted.  He said they were the only division that had not had a compartment hit, which deducts points from the divisions score.  That sounded promising.  Thank goodness there is a place like this where we can talk and compare information we get from the letters.

Hi, I had reservations at the Ramada in Waukegan as well but thanks to seeing your responses about bad reviews, I decided to check them out. Yikes!! This hotel has absolutely terrible reviews on Expedia and Trip Advisor! I have cancelled my reservation and made one at Courtyard by Marriott instead. *It is a little bit more expensive ($104 per night versus $80) but when I seen that the Ramada is listed on the Bedbug registry... I have no doubt that it will be worth the extra $60 total; granted they were listed on the Bedbug registry in 2010 but that is still enough to keep me away. One reviewer also mentioned that their daughter got head lice while staying there and that is just yuck!

Hi Josh's Mom
Thanks so much for posting this. I was on the edge about cancelling our reservations, but after hearing about the BED BUG possibility ~ we switched to The Marriott. Hope to see you there. Which meet and greet do you plan on attending? I think we should also pass this along to the others attending the 8/24 PIR?
Thanks again!!!!
