Hi everyone! So, I found out I was 8 weeks pregnant a week after my Sailor left for Boot camp. At first I wasn't sure whether or not to tell him while he was away, but after 2 weeks of letters I completely decided against it. They're going through so much everyday and I don't want to make him feel anymore helpless and uninvolved when it's not something he can help! So, I need YOUR help ladies! What is a fun way to tell him? I bought a navy vintage picture frame to put our first Ultrasound picture in, but who has anyone else experienced this?
It's so hard writing him everyday and not telling him. I miss him like I never thought before, and I feel so lonely even with all the family support.
I'm thinking "Daddy is my hero" with an anchor on the frame. Can he take something bulky like that if he's on a fleet though?? ANY feedback would be great - Thank you so much! :)

Well for bootcamp graduation typically they cannot take anything with them back to the barracks. My husband's division was allowed to bring back their contacts and solution and that was it. No phones, nothing else. Are you going to graduation? Maybe you could get a shirt made up and wear it under a jacket or light sweater and when you go find him after they say its ok you can show him the shirt! If someone is there to take pictures it would be great to see his expression! lol
but depending on when he leaves and where his a school is and if you meet him at the airport you might be able to get it to him before he goes to a school at the airport or something. But if not you can always send it to him in A school as well. He will have an address there typically :)
Awh, that's a really cute idea with the t shirt! I will be going to graduation with all of his family (who I also haven't told) I just didn't want him to be the LAST to know, but I think once I see them, I'll probably end up getting out. I think he leaves for graduation early that next morning - or like you said - I could always just do that or mail it to him later. Thank you so much!
You are welcome :) It would be an awesome picture for a baby book!! :) Sometimes you can meet them at the airport so you can take him like a carry on black bag I think you will have to double check so you could give him the ultrasound then so he can take it with him
Wow, thank you again for the help. I really want to see him off.
You are welcome :) I hope you can! I know my husband knew a few weeks before what his flight was probably going to be then he knew by his battlestations when he would fly out.
Right. That was another thing I was worried about. I didn't want him to fail out of Boot camp, and I'm not sure how it will all work out with with A school. I feel like I keep reading very conflicting information regarding how it's dealt with, so if you know of a good resource, I would love some solid information on that. Like I said, it definitely wasnt planned. I had (TMI) vommiting during all hours for a few days back in May, and it's a typical "We-weren't-careful-enough-on-the-pill" type situation. :/
Congratulations! That is so exciting :) I like the fact that you are going to wait until after boot camp. He will be so happy to be done with bootcamp, then so excited to be seeing you at graduation, and then you will be giving him the best news ever! By the time he graduates you will be 15 weeks pregnant? Around that time you may be showing a little bit. If you are you should just ask him once you see him "Notice anything different?" Something like that you know? Put his hand on your stomach or say something like "We've been missing you!" I really like the picture frame idea too. Putting the first ultrasound picture in a navy themed frame is perfect! He should be able to take it to A school with him but like Meagan said, not back to the barracks at boot camp... Unless he is going to A school in Great Lakes. Good Luck!!!
Thank you SO much for the enthusiasm, this site is the best! :) I really love the simplicity of putting his hand on my belly. 15 weeks is so funny though becuase I feel like if people don't know you're pregnant, they'll think you just gained weight, lol.
Congratulations!
They won't discharge him, as he had no knowledge of the pregnancy when he signed papers about the number of dependents he has. Birth control can fail, he won't be punished for that.
That's very good to know, thank you.
